A brightly colored skin originally designed to look like a Monster Energy drink can – though it was actually promoting Razer – has been changed to a more subdued, forest green color, making it look less like a race car and more suitable for a military theme.

Fans reacted positively to the update, with one Reddit user enthusiastically posting, “THEY’RE LISTENING!” However, some players noted that certain character skins still need improvements. A specific blue-themed skin continues to be a point of contention, especially since it’s an original design and not a collaboration, but still tied to in-game purchases.
Battlefield Studios quietly updated the game today, simply darkening the green color on one skin and making a few other small changes. There was no announcement or explanation from the developers about the update.
Brands Want You To Notice Their Crossover Skins, At Any Cost
Players are generally happy to see the game’s skin change from a bright neon green to a more standard green color. However, Razer, the company behind the skin, probably isn’t as pleased. Brands that partner with games for themed skins want players to constantly associate the skin with their brand, and bright, noticeable colors are a great way to achieve that. It’s simply a common marketing strategy to make promotional items stand out.
