Battlefield RedSec delivers a fast-paced Battle Royale experience within the Battlefield universe. Players drop into Fort Lyndon, a massive map featuring military locations, vehicles, and constant firefights. As time goes on, a shrinking safe zone and encroaching storm add to the intense pressure.
I’m really getting into Battlefield RedSec, and it’s all about the weapons! You can build your own loadouts, but honestly, grabbing a gun off the ground is usually the fastest way to start getting kills. If you can’t find a Custom Weapon Drop, don’t worry – you can actually upgrade the guns you find on the ground using Gunsmith Kits. Here’s what you need to know about how to use them.
Where to Find Gunsmith Kits in Battlefield RedSec
Getting Gunsmith Kits in Battlefield RedSec relies a lot on luck. They don’t appear in any set places; instead, they can randomly show up in any crate. Orange crates give you the highest chance of finding one. To improve your odds, open every crate you see during a game.
When you discover a Gunsmith Kit, you can use it immediately if you have the correct weapon, or save it for later use in your inventory.
How to Use Gunsmith Kits to Upgrade Weapons in Battlefield RedSec
In Battlefield RedSec, you need to have the right weapon equipped to use a Gunsmith Kit. Different kits are available for different weapon types – for example, Assault Rifle Kits work with assault rifles, and PDW Kits are specifically for SMGs. Similarly, MG Kits are designed for use with LMGs. Basically, the kit you use needs to match the weapon you’re modifying.
Once you have the weapon needed for the Gunsmith Kit, go to the kit (or drop it if you already have it). Then, press and hold the interact button to open it. This will take you to a menu where you can pick one of two attachments to add to your weapon.

The upgrades you can add to a weapon depend on how rare it is. Common weapons get simple improvements like basic scopes, but rarer weapons can gain bigger benefits, such as better accuracy or a larger magazine. After you choose an upgrade, it’s applied to your weapon, boosting its stats and increasing its overall rarity.
Players can continue to upgrade their weapons by finding additional Gunsmith Kits, allowing them to fully maximize a gun’s potential.
