Starting Duet Night Abyss can feel a bit overwhelming. The game has a lot of buttons and menus, which can be confusing, and that’s before you even learn all the different game systems. If you want to quickly get the hang of things, this guide will walk you through everything a new player should do in Duet Night Abyss.
What to Do First in Duet Night Abyss
There’s plenty to do in Duet Night Abyss, and if you’re not sure where to start, here’s a helpful list to guide you.
- Play the main story
- Get new characters and weapons
- Upgrade new characters and weapons
- Get and upgrade new Demon Wedges
- Collect Geniemons
- Play endgame events and activities
We highly recommend completing the main storyline before exploring other features. Doing so will open up systems like cooperative play, crafting, and other exciting gameplay elements in DNA.
Getting Characters and Weapons
Our detailed guide explains how to unlock characters in DNA. Basically, you need Secret Letters, which you can earn by spending Secret Letter Clues in the shop or by participating in events and activities, such as the weekly Nocturnal Echoes boss battles.
Secret Letters are similar to reward boxes. When you open them, you’ll get either character unlocks (called Thoughts) or pieces needed to build new weapons. You earn these letters by finishing special missions called Covert Commissions, which you can find in the game’s Combat menu.
Upgrading Characters and Weapons
To strengthen your characters and weapons, you’ll need special materials – both for leveling them up (EXP) and improving their potential (ascension). You can find these materials by completing tasks listed under the ‘Commissions’ section in the game’s Combat menu.
To make the fastest progress, focus on upgrading just one character and one set of weapons early on. We suggest fully leveling either Phoxhunter or Berenica, as both are strong and can handle any mission. Having a character with both Lumino and Umbro abilities also lets you easily overcome different enemy types without needing to worry about elemental weaknesses.
Rebecca is a fantastic character to focus on upgrading early in Duet Night Abyss. With the right build, she allows you to automatically farm infinite modes, letting you play without constant attention.
Demon Wedges
Demon Wedges are items you can equip to make your characters and gear even stronger. They’re similar to the Mod system in Warframe – they boost your stats, and some offer unique, powerful effects. Keep in mind that each Demon Wedge you use will reduce your Tolerance.
Demon Wedges have different Tolerance costs, so choose them carefully. You won’t really start needing to think about these until you’re around Trial Level 35 or later, making them more useful in the mid to late game.
Geniemons
Geniemons are little creatures you can discover and catch while completing jobs or exploring the game world. You can take them with you on missions, and they’ll give you various helpful boosts. There are two kinds of Geniemons:
- Active Geniemons can be equipped and summoned to provide support during a mission.
- Inactive Geniemons passively grant you bonuses.
Choosing the right Geniemon can significantly improve how well your character performs on missions. If you’re not dealing enough damage, try finding and leveling up a Geniemon that complements your character’s strengths.
The Beginner’s Guide
DNA’s Beginner’s Guide will walk you through the key features and gameplay of the game. If you’re familiar with gacha games, you’ll quickly understand how it works. Think of it as a list of tasks – completing each one earns you rewards.
Honestly, I really think you should go through this whole guide. It’s like a checklist for leveling up your account in DNA – finishing everything will make things way smoother and faster for you in the long run. Trust me, it’ll save you a lot of headaches!
