  3. Select the item of interest, and choose Take Out.
  4. Choose the desired quantity, and confirm to assign that quantity to the Hero.

In Dragon Quest, your hero can only carry a maximum of 20 items, including what’s currently equipped. With a fully equipped hero, you’ll only have space for about 14 items, so players need to carefully choose which items to bring into battle.

Using Items

Okay, so once I’ve got an item equipped, I can use it during a fight by going into the ‘Items’ menu and selecting it. It’s good to know that using an item takes my turn, but thankfully it doesn’t cost any MP! Plus, some items are super helpful because they can get rid of bad status effects or even apply good ones to enemies – that can really turn the tide of battle.
