A potential leak from the PlayStation Store in Portugal suggests Leon S. Kennedy might be a playable character in Resident Evil Requiem. This isn’t the first leak about the game – in fact, reports have been appearing even before it was officially announced.
Back in January, five months before the official announcement of Resident Evil Requiem, a well-known Capcom leaker named Dusk Golem said that Leon S. Kennedy would definitely be the main character in the next Resident Evil game. Even after Requiem was revealed at Summer Game Fest, Dusk Golem has insisted Leon will be in the game, even though Capcom has repeatedly stated that he won’t be.
A PlayStation Store Leak Hints at a Playable Leon Kennedy in Resident Evil Requiem
A new leak indicates that Leon Kennedy might be a playable character in Resident Evil Requiem. A Reddit user noticed something interesting when pre-orders began on October 29th: the Deluxe Edition description, translated from Portuguese, listed costumes including one for Leon Kennedy as a ‘DSO Special Agent’, alongside a Grace Costume for Lady Dimitrescu.
This suggests Leon Kennedy will be a major character in Resident Evil Requiem, potentially with unlockable costumes. One rumored “Deluxe Edition” costume would recreate his look from Resident Evil 6, when he was part of the Security Operations Division.
This Latest Resident Evil Requiem Leon Leak May Not Be Legitimate
Dusk Golem posted a link to a Reddit post on X (formerly Twitter), but people quickly started to doubt if the information in the original post was real.
Dusk Golem received reports that the initial Reddit post about the supposed PlayStation Store leak was removed quickly, and the person who posted it deleted their account. Several people responding to Dusk Golem on X also noted that it’s simple to fake text on a store page by altering the website’s code.
Dusk Golem responded to worries about a leaked Resident Evil Requeim listing on the PlayStation Store by sharing a Reddit post that proved it was fake. However, Dusk Golem firmly reiterated that Leon S. Kennedy will be a main playable character in the next Resident Evil game, alongside Grace. They explained they’re waiting for Capcom to officially announce it and are sharing what they know as best they can.
