The developers of Battlefield 6, DICE, have removed a player skin called ‘Wicked Grin’ after it received negative feedback. While neither DICE nor EA has officially addressed the change, which happened with the recent Season 1 update, fans believe the studio might be redesigning the skin to better fit the game’s realistic style.
After Activision reversed course on overly flashy character skins in Call of Duty, even cancelling a planned feature for Black Ops 7, Battlefield fans are working hard to prevent similar content from appearing in the upcoming Battlefield 6. DICE has promised a realistic and gritty experience, avoiding the trends of other games, but some recently revealed skins have worried fans about the direction the game might take.
Battlefield 6’s Blue Wicked Grin Skin Has Seemingly Been Removed
Just before the launch of Season 1, EA showed off some of the new character skins coming to the game in a big content update. However, one skin, called Wicked Grin, caused a lot of negative reactions from Battlefield 6 players because of its very bright blue color. It seems this skin has now been completely removed from the game. While EA and DICE haven’t said anything about the removal, many fans believe the skin might be redesigned, as players expressed strong dislike and said they wouldn’t help anyone wearing it.
The Wicked Grin skin hasn’t pleased everyone, but the team at DICE consistently works hard to satisfy players, particularly with how in-game items look. It seems they may be updating the Wicked Grin skin soon, and they also recently changed another skin with this week’s Season 1 update for Battlefield 6. The System Override skin, originally a promotion with Razer, received criticism for its bright neon green coloring, with some calling it the “Monster Energy” skin. DICE has now adjusted the design to be more in line with the game’s overall look.
