Techland has launched a major update, version 1.3, for Dying Light: The Beast to finish off October 2025. Although the update doesn’t include a huge number of changes, it still brings some key improvements and new features to the game.

So, I’ve been playing Dying Light: The Beast, and honestly, it’s really good! It doesn’t totally change up the Dying Light formula, but if you already love the series, you’ll definitely enjoy it – it just does more of what makes the games great. But the cool thing is, the developers, Techland, aren’t stopping there. They’re still pushing out updates to make the game even better, which is awesome to see.
The newest update, version 1.3, launched in late October 2025. A key feature is a new surrender system: enemies with melee weapons in Dying Light: The Beast will now recognize when a player is aiming a gun at them. Instead of fighting to the death, some enemies will choose to give up. Techland says how this plays out will vary, and they’re letting players discover the details themselves. Also launching on October 31st is the previously announced collaboration with PUBG Mobile, offering a limited-time quest and items available until November 21st.

The new Dying Light: The Beast update includes nine new ways to eliminate enemies with different weapons. It also addresses various issues with gameplay progression, graphics, and performance. Additionally, Techland has made a few balance adjustments: crafting and upgrading weapons now requires less wiring, you’ll find more oxidizers while looting, and characters you encounter will be a bit tougher against attacks from both players and enemies.
While update 1.3 is a positive improvement for Dying Light: The Beast, it’s just the beginning. The developers have announced a detailed plan for the next few months, promising exciting additions like New Game+, Legend Levels, Ray Tracing, and a Nightmare Difficulty setting, all scheduled to be released before January 7, 2026.
