As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours navigating the cosmos, I can confidently say that Starfield has been a space odyssey like no other. The game is a testament to Bethesda’s ingenuity and their knack for delivering immersive gaming experiences. However, there’s one area where I believe Starfield could use a bit more starpower – space battles!

As a gamer, I’ve been captivated by the grandeur of Starfield, a cosmic odyssey that invites exploration through the infinite expanse of the universe and delves into profound themes of science and spirituality. This epic title, long in gestation, marks another triumph for Bethesda. Among its many attractions, the space battles are undeniably exhilarating.

Regrettably, there aren’t many space battles between starships in Starfield, and when they do occur, they tend to be quite modest. To make future installments of the series more thrilling, I suggest focusing more on interstellar conflicts. This could be achieved by enhancing different elements of space warfare, which would undoubtedly offer a satisfying action experience.

Starfield’s Space Battles Have a Lot of Potential

Space combat is a common feature in science fiction, and the game “Starfield” ensures it’s well-represented. At the outset, you might find the space battle system a bit intricate, but the game effectively guides players through its mechanics. Once you get the hang of it, space battles become exciting and immersive.

The main issue lies in the scarcity of space combat encounters, which often turns interstellar travel into an uneventful and isolating journey. Additionally, when space battles do occur, they tend to be minor skirmishes involving only a handful of Starfield spaceships that get destroyed swiftly, particularly if one is equipped with a superior spacecraft.

Starfield Needs More Story-Heavy Space Battles

An approach Bethesda could take to address this issue is by developing narratives that revolve around space combat for their game Starfield. As players traverse its universe, they will encounter various factions, each providing distinct storylines with diverse focal points. For instance, the Crimson Fleet invites players into a life of space piracy, while the Freestar Collective offers an experience akin to being a cosmic cowboy.

Much like how there could be a questline centered around interstellar combat, emphasizing its grandeur and spectacle, it’s suggested that this narrative thread be associated with House Va’Ruun. Members of this house have a fascination for Grav Jumping, which makes them an ideal choice for such a storyline. Engaging in significant battles as a member of House Va’Ruun or confronting them would create some of the most thrilling experiences within the game.

Starfield Could Overhaul the Ship Fleet System

In the current version of Starfield, players typically engage in battles against numerous enemies solo. While this isn’t an issue for well-equipped ships, it can lead to rapid enemy overpowering. To address this, it would be beneficial if players could command a fleet of spaceships, with AI companions taking control of the other vessels and collaborating on strategies to defeat adversaries. This change encourages players to invest in multiple spaceships and explore how various ships can complement each other for effective teamwork.

Spaceship Battles Could be a Window for Multiplayer Gameplay

As a devoted space explorer, traversing the expansive Settled Systems can often feel isolating, even when I’m piloting a ship brimming with non-player characters. However, if future iterations of the Starfield series or updates incorporate multiplayer features, I truly believe that cooperative spaceship battles could be an exhilarating way to combat loneliness in this vast cosmos.

As a gamer, teaming up with others to tackle enemy spaceships would be an exhilarating experience! By collaborating on our ships’ designs, we can think creatively about how to complement each other’s strengths and offset weaknesses in different ship builds. After a grueling space battle, the shared loot rewards will motivate us to work together, making cooperation a crucial aspect of gameplay.

In other words, instead of holding off until a sequel for alterations in the Starfield’s spaceship battle system, Bethesda has the option to make these adjustments through downloadable content (DLC), like the forthcoming Shattered Space expansion. It seems clear that there is still plenty of room for Starfield to evolve with future updates, and the spaceship battles are an area where Bethesda should pay close attention.
