This article contains spoilers from My Hero Academia Chapter 430.
As a dedicated fan, I must say, wrapping up My Hero Academia was nothing short of thrilling! It’s no secret that the hero society was due for some reorganization, hinted at subtly in the series finale. And when it comes to our beloved heroes, we knew major transformations were on the horizon too.
In this narrative, a character who sparked immense curiosity among fans was none other than Mirio Togata. As the series concluded, he could be seen graduating and embarking on his journey as a professional hero. The final chapter of My Hero Academia made it official, albeit predictable, that Mirio had achieved the highest rank and was Japan’s top Hero in the storyline. This article will delve into how he managed to reach such a lofty position.
Mirio’s Power And Potential Was Out Of The World Right From The Beginning
- Possesses The Permeation Quirk
- High Physical Strength
In the world of My Hero Academia, Mirio emerged as a notable hero-in-training early on, boasting immense potential and raw power. Even Nighteye, a respected figure, had proposed him as the next bearer of the One For All after Yagi Toshinori. Initially, All Might intended to pass on the One For All to Mirio, but it ultimately went to Deku. However, Mirio’s status as a worthy candidate for the One For All, in the eyes of All Might, speaks volumes about his abilities. Without the power of the One For All, fans still regard Mirio as a formidable force. His physical prowess, including strength, endurance, and stamina, is extraordinary, as demonstrated numerous times throughout the series.
A hero’s cape…! Is for bundling up a young girl who’s in terrible pain! – Mirio
It’s clear that Mirio has become exceptional at this skill, leveraging his own vulnerability to reach new heights, which is one of the reasons fans have grown fond of him over time. During the Shie Hassaikai arc, Mirio demonstrated the full extent of his potential. Not only did he defeat Chisaki decisively in a fight, but he also battled his allies simultaneously and remained victorious. Although he eventually lost his Quirk, on the battlefield, he proved to be an unstoppable force.
After the culmination of the Paranormal Liberation War, I found myself overjoyed as my hero, Mirio, regained his quirk, all thanks to Eri – the very girl he had dared to save at great personal risk earlier on. With this newfound power, he stormed back onto the scene and, during the epic battle against Shigaraki in the Final War, fans were thrilled to witness him holding his own and performing admirably. However, it was evident that Mirio had not yet reached the zenith of his abilities, leaving a tantalizing hint of unrealized potential within him.
As a gamer putting myself in the shoes of a My Hero Academia fan, let me rephrase that: Right from when Mirio first appeared on the scene, it wasn’t a secret that he had untapped potential. He was always just behind All Might, even as a student, and his powers were off the charts. His strength was something to behold, making him one of the most impressive hero students out there. It goes without saying that a future star like him was bound to shine even brighter after graduation.
How Mirio Became The Top Hero In My Hero Academia
Mirio Soared To The Top Of The Ranking Chart After The Timeskip
Following the end of the war, Mirio completed his education at UA High School and proceeded with his life’s journey. In the epilogue, fans only got a glimpse of him giving a speech and continuing with his usual antics. Subsequently, it was disclosed to the audience that Mirio had achieved the highest rank in the hero community, implying that by the finale of My Hero Academia, he ascended to the position of the Number One Hero.
It isn’t difficult for spectators to understand why Mirio claimed the title of the number one hero. After the war, there weren’t many capable heroes left standing. Endeavor was left incapacitated, Hawks had lost his quirk and moved up in rank, while Best Jeanist and Edgeshot were out of the picture too, with Mirko also severely injured. The top five heroes were all struggling to maintain their positions. Even if they could have taken on higher roles, Mirio, due to the numerous lives he saved, his impressive strength, and his captivating personality, was always destined for the top spot. As Mirio advanced in his role as a Pro Hero, his power and potential flourished even more. It’s evident that he gained additional power once he officially became a hero and continued to develop throughout his career.
To gauge Mirio’s power as a top hero, it’s important to consider the notable figures he has outclassed in the hero rankings. Notably, Bakugo and Shoto are renowned for their immense strength. In fact, during Izuku’s awakening, Bakugo demonstrated an ability to match him, and even when young, he was capable of battling All For One. Given that it’s been eight years since then, Bakugo would have undoubtedly grown stronger, particularly with improved support equipment. This implies that Mirio overcame a more powerful version of Bakugo, who could hold his own against All For One.
I will always be Lemillion! Nothing I’ve done up to now will ever be useless! – Mirio
By the finale of the series, it seems Mirio had an incredible amount of strength. It wouldn’t be unreasonable to suppose that he surpasses Endeavor as the top hero, or perhaps is even on par with All Might at his peak, which might seem hard for fans to accept. However, given that Mirio was the most like All Might when they were students, it shouldn’t come as a shock. Over time, the difference between them likely diminished further.
It’s fair to assume that Mirio’s powers, both pre- and post-war, were more than enough for him to claim the position of Japan’s Number One Hero in My Hero Academia. His status as the top hero is well-deserved indeed. If there ever comes a sequel – be it a one-shot or a movie – fans would undoubtedly be thrilled to witness even more displays of his extraordinary abilities.
