Solo Leveling is a hugely popular anime that quickly became famous after its debut in 2024. The first season launched that year, and the show returned even stronger with season two in 2025. Now that season two has finished, fans are eager to find out if a third season is in the works.
Although the studio recently had a great opportunity, a third season of Solo Leveling hasn’t been officially announced yet. This lack of news is worrying, and could potentially harm the series’ overall success. A long delay could cause fans to lose interest, ultimately damaging Solo Leveling’s popularity.
Solo Leveling Season 3 Is Not Confirmed Yet

- A Long Wait Could Kill The Series
- A Rushed Release Could Also Ruin Solo Leveling
Wow, Season 2 of Solo Leveling was absolutely incredible! Seriously, a lot of us fans are already predicting it’ll win Anime of the Year in 2026, just like Season 1 did in 2025. The animation and storytelling were beyond anything I expected, but now everyone’s buzzing about what’s coming next – Season 3! We’re all so eager to see where they take the story.
Popular anime shows like Frieren, Dandadan, and The Apothecary Diaries have already been renewed for future seasons, but there’s still no official news about whether Solo Leveling will get a third season. Other shows are moving forward with new seasons, leaving fans uncertain about the future of Solo Leveling.
The release of Solo Leveling Season 3 might be delayed. The animation studio, A-1 Pictures, is currently working on several other projects with Aniplex, and it doesn’t appear that Solo Leveling is a high priority for them right now. This was evident at Aniplex’s recent event, where other shows were announced, but Solo Leveling wasn’t mentioned.
Given that ‘Solo Leveling’ hasn’t been officially announced, a release in 2026 seems very unlikely, particularly since the studio hasn’t begun production. A wait of two to three years is a more realistic expectation for fans. The series relies heavily on excitement, and the studio likely understands that interest will eventually fade if the release is delayed too long, potentially causing fans to lose interest.

However, releasing the series too quickly could be even more damaging. A major draw of Solo Leveling is its impressive, smooth animation, which requires significant time and effort to create. A rushed release shouldn’t be considered, as it could severely harm the franchise and ultimately lead to its downfall. We’ve seen many popular series suffer from just one poorly made season, and fans are hoping Solo Leveling avoids the same fate.
When Should Solo Leveling Season 3 Drop?
Anywhere Between Late 2026 and 2028

Although Season 3 of Solo Leveling hasn’t been officially announced, most estimates suggest it will likely be released sometime between late 2026 and 2028.
Atsushi Kaneko, one of the producers, has said they’d prefer to release Season 3 of Solo Leveling in 2028, given the amount of work involved, and that seems realistic. A 2027 release would be great for fans, though.
I’m really excited for Season 3, maybe even more than anyone! It took a huge amount of work – 220,000 animated frames – just to get through Seasons 1 and 2. If I had my way, we’d wait until after the 2028 Olympics to start working on it, but ultimately, the decision rests with Kaneko and A-1 Pictures.

The future of Solo Leveling is a bit unclear right now, but a third season is confirmed and will eventually be released. Fans should stay tuned for updates about the anime.
Currently, there are 25 episodes of Solo Leveling available – the first season has 12 episodes and the second has 13. You can watch both seasons on Crunchyroll. If you’re eager for more content before season 3 arrives, reading the original Manhwa is a good way to continue the story.
