A Halo insider says that remakes of both Halo 2 and Halo 3 are planned after the release of Halo: Combat Evolved. According to a post by ‘leaks_infinite’ on social media, a source told them the remakes are in development and will include a sprint feature.
The next Halo game with multiplayer will be Halo 7, though details are still scarce. Similar to Halo Infinite, the game’s campaign and multiplayer portions will be released at different times.
More Halo Remakes Could Be Coming
Halo Studios recently announced that a remastered version of Halo: Combat Evolved is coming soon. The announcement was made at the end of the 2025 Halo Championship Series, signaling the conclusion of competitive play for Halo Infinite.
The team announced that Halo will be available on PlayStation for the first time ever, starting with the release of Campaign Evolved on PS5.

This news has upset many fans, as Halo 3’s multiplayer was a hugely popular and formative experience for a lot of gamers, especially those who played it on the Xbox 360.
Halo 2 and Halo 3 are getting complete remakes, and they will include sprinting. However, these remakes will only feature the campaign – there won’t be any multiplayer. Multiplayer will be reserved for the next mainline Halo game, Halo 7.

The source also speculated that Halo Studios will assess how well the re-released Halo: Combat Evolved performs to determine if remaking Halo 2 and 3 is a worthwhile investment – a reasonable idea.
It’s safe to assume that all planned remakes will be released on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
