ARC Raiders Releases Its First Post-Launch Update

A new update for ARC Raiders, version 1.000.006, is now available. This is the first update since the game launched, and it fixes over a dozen important problems that players found when the game first came out. It also includes a few other improvements.

Embark Studios’ new extraction shooter, ARC Raiders, launched successfully on October 30th, attracting over 264,000 players on Steam at its peak. Based on player reviews, it appears at least a third of those who bought the game early are playing on consoles.

First ARC Raiders Update Includes Gameplay, Graphics, UI Fixes

On October 31st, ARC Raiders received its first update since launch. The update, version 1.000.006, mainly focuses on fixing bugs. Players should notice improvements with Augment Effects, item drops, and minor visual glitches. The in-game proximity chat has also been improved to eliminate robotic voice distortions.

The latest update to the extraction shooter aims to improve stability compared to the initial release. While details are limited, the changelog notes a fix for one specific crash. PC players should see the biggest improvements, as developers have fixed a memory leak caused by Steam avatar images. This same update also resolves an issue where player Steam avatars weren’t displaying on the Social tab. Additionally, the patch corrects visual glitches that occurred on PC when using Epic graphics settings in ARC Raiders.

We’ve temporarily turned off the virtual tracking feature for ARC Raiders Codex because some objectives weren’t unlocking as expected. The team is working on a complete fix to bring it back. We’ve also improved the in-game store so images will display correctly on all screens. Visual updates include better flooring, lighting, and map geometry, particularly on the Blue Gate map. Finally, we’ve adjusted the metro extractions on the Buried City map to prevent players from getting stuck on the train tracks.

The developers are planning many more improvements for the game in the coming days. Looking ahead, Embark has revealed exciting plans for future content in ARC Raiders, including new missions, locations, and in-game events. They’re aiming to release several major updates by the end of 2025. Instead of following the typical seasonal model seen in many online games, Embark intends to release updates and substantial changes as soon as they are ready, rather than on a fixed schedule.
