ARC Raiders Beginner Tips & Tricks

Okay, so I’ve been playing ARC Raiders, and let me tell you, it’s intense! It’s one of those extraction shooters where you’re constantly on edge. If you want to actually make it to the later stages, unlock all the cool maps and weapons, you really need to use every trick you can get your hands on to survive.

The surface world is a harsh and unpredictable place, a mix of dangerous territory where anything can happen. If you’re a Raider hoping to succeed in Speranza, here are some helpful tips to make your experience easier.

When Moving, Weapons Down; When Looting, Weapons Out

In ARC Raiders, remember this key movement rule: carrying a weapon slows you down and makes it harder to get around. This includes the Pickaxe! To sprint, quickly move across the map, and explore efficiently, you need to put your weapon away. On PC, press H to holster and unholster your weapon, and on consoles, use Triangle/Y for the same action – this will let you move much faster.

While weapons aren’t always needed, it’s crucial to be prepared. That’s why, when searching a location, you should always have your weapon ready. The few seconds it takes to draw your weapon could be the difference between surviving and being defeated.

Stamina Management And Encumbrance

Stamina is crucial for survival in Raiders – even more important than shields or health. Running out of stamina leaves players vulnerable to attacks from both ARC enemies and other players. When stamina is completely depleted, players must stop and rest or walk for a short time to regain it.

Players can use an Adrenalite shot to immediately restore all Stamina and gain unlimited Stamina for 6 seconds. It’s best to always carry an Adrenaline Shot with you.

Encumbrance impacts how fast your Raider moves and how quickly they get tired. Pay attention to how much loot they’re carrying – it’s not just about how many slots are filled in their backpack, but also the Encumbrance meter displayed below their Loadout.

Don’t Attract Unnecessary Attention

Gunfire and stealing attract attention, so staying quiet is key. Perks like Gentle Pressure, which muffles looting sounds, and Proficient Pryer, which speeds up the process, can help players remain undetected. Also, recharging your shields creates a lot of noise, making you an easy target during combat.

Staying quiet and moving carefully – like using silencers and crouching – helps you avoid attracting unwanted attention from enemies such as ARC Drones and other players. Surprise is incredibly important in games like ARC Raiders, and this game really emphasizes that aspect.

Save Ammo, Use Your Pickaxe

You’ll encounter lots of ground-level enemies, including Pops, Fireballs, Ticks, and Turrets. Using a melee weapon is a great strategy because it conserves ammunition and is quieter than ranged attacks.

Drones sometimes fly inside buildings, usually through doorways or windows. This puts them within close range of players, who can then quickly and quietly destroy them with pickaxes instead of using up valuable ammunition.

Turn Foliage to Low. It Will Help You Detect Players

As a player, I’ve noticed something really important about the game: bushes and plants don’t actually hide you as well as you’d think! People are using this to their advantage to spot others hiding, and honestly, you should too until the developers fix it. It’s a pretty useful trick to know!

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Graphics.
  3. Scroll down near the bottom of the list.
  4. Turn Foliage to Low.

It will be much easier to spot enemy players hiding in bushes and plants, which will help you avoid surprise attacks and unfair tactics when trying to escape.
