If these claims prove true, it would be a dream come true for me and fellow fans to explore Feudal Japan in Assassin’s Creed Shadows on our beloved Nintendo systems.
A recent whisper in gaming circles hints that the future title, “Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” might be making its debut on Nintendo’s upcoming console, joining a collection of previous games. The Feudal Japan-themed “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” is set to drop on all current platforms, except for the Nintendo Switch, on November 15.
In recent times, an increasing number of Assassin’s Creed video game series titles have been released for Nintendo gaming systems. Specifically, Assassin’s Creed 3 and Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag were initially launched on the Wii U, followed by a port to the Switch. Since then, most games from Assassin’s Creed 2 up to Assassin’s Creed Rogue have been made available on the Switch, either as individual re-releases or as part of remastered compilations.
The upcoming, as-yet-unnamed Nintendo console might feature more appearances of the “Assassin’s Creed” series, starting with this year’s “Assassin’s Creed Shadows.” Gaming leaker Nash Weedle speculates that Ubisoft is planning to transfer “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” to the successor of the Nintendo Switch as a launch title. This claim was later supported by another Twitter user, Necro Felipe. If true, this would be just the beginning, as Nash Weedle also hints that several recent “Assassin’s Creed” games will be made available on Nintendo’s new platform. Among them are “Assassin’s Creed Odyssey” and “Origins,” which might be marketed together in a bundle.

As a dedicated Nintendo fan who has grown up playing their iconic games like Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda, I eagerly await news about their next major console. Over the years, I have watched with anticipation as rumors swirl around the internet, hinting at the technical prowess and exciting new games that could be in store for us gamers. While it’s always a thrill to imagine what might be possible, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia knowing that these beloved franchises have been a constant presence in my life since childhood.
Just like with other rumors surrounding recent games, it’s wise for Assassin’s Creed Shadows fans to approach these statements cautiously. For now, the game is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Windows and Mac PCs, as well as iPadOS in November. Unfortunately, it seems that the Nintendo Switch won’t be compatible with this latest version.
