Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

As a seasoned Hollow Knight player, I’ve been through the maze-like labyrinth of Hallownest countless times, and let me tell you, the journey to obtain the Grimmchild Charm or Carefree Melody is no walk in the park!

In the game Hollow Knight, you’ll find an intricate combat system, featuring unique abilities, mobility enhancements, and upgrades to fortify your character, the Knight. As you explore Hallownest, gather special items called Charms, which serve as accessories and offer additional resilience. However, Charms can only be worn when you take a seat at a bench, provided that the Knight has sufficient Charm Slots available.

In the game “Hollow Knight,” a total of 45 unique Charms can be acquired. Some are hidden throughout the game’s map and waiting to be found, others are earned by defeating enemies in battles, while some can be purchased from different merchants. Here is a guide for locating all the Charms.

Wayward Compass

Charm Notches Required: 1x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

The Wayward Compass will show the location of the Knight on the map, an incredibly useful skill for navigating the world effectively. As a plus, it only requires a single Charm Notch to equip.

How To Get The Wayward Compass Charm

You can acquire this Charm from Iselda, located at the map shop within Dirtmouth, for 220 Geo. Her shop becomes accessible once you’ve met Cornifer for the first time. He is a vendor who sells incomplete maps to the Knight, which can be completed as your journey through Hallownest unfolds. Iselda offers additional items that are beneficial for navigating the world, revealing secret passages and connecting routes as you progress.

Gathering Swarm

Charm Notches Required: 1x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

Primarily functioning as a tool for gathering Geo, the Charm called Gathering Swarm summons a cloud of creatures to scavenge and collect any dispersed Geo bits, returning them to the Knight. This swarm can retrieve Geo even if it’s fallen into spikes or tricky locations, but it won’t pick up Geo from acid pools, water, or if you move away before they’ve collected any stray Geo pieces.

How To Get The Gathering Swarm Charm

In Dirtmouth’s store run by Sly, you can buy The Charm for 300 Geo. To use it, though, you’ll need a single Charm Notch. After rescuing Sly from the abandoned village (located beneath the Gruz Mother and to the left of Salubra in the Forgotten Crossroads), he will return to Dirtmouth.

Stalwart Shell

Charm Notches Required: 2x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the Stalwart Shell Charm is a game-changer for any knight in combat. This magical trinket not only speeds up recovery time but also minimizes the recoil a knight experiences after being struck by enemies. The added invincibility frames (or I-frames) during battle provide players with an edge, allowing them to overpower their foes or take advantage of the extended healing window. To equip this valuable asset, one requires two Charm Notches – a small price to pay for the significant advantage it offers in the heat of battle. In my gaming journey, I’ve found that investing in the right charms can make all the difference, and the Stalwart Shell is definitely one worth considering.

How To Get The Stalwart Shell Charm

You can buy the Robust Shell from Sly’s store once he comes back to Dirtmouth, priced at 200 Geo.

Soul Catcher

Charm Notches Required: 2x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

Using this Charm enhances the Knight’s Soul production when striking enemies with the Nail. It’s an essential item for specific gameplay styles that rely heavily on Soul. The catch is that it requires the expenditure of two Notches to be activated.

How To Get The Soul Catcher Charm

After vanquishing the False Knight, players can enter the Ancestral Mound. Inside, they’ll find themselves navigating through the place by leaping onto platforms and battling foes as they progress. The ultimate challenge awaits at the end: defeating Elder Baldur. To the left of the battle arena, you’ll discover the Soul Catcher.

Soul Eater

Charm Notches Required: 4x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

As a seasoned adventurer who has spent countless hours battling mythical creatures and harnessing the power of enchanted artifacts, I can confidently say that this Charm is a valuable addition to any Knight’s arsenal. This ancient relic, with its rich history and powerful abilities, serves as the older sibling to the Soul Catcher, another esteemed item in our community. The Charm greatly amplifies the amount of Soul energy that a Knight acquires from striking down their foes with the nail, making it an indispensable tool for those seeking to tap into their full potential. However, beware the four Notches it demands as its price; using this Charm is not without its limitations, and one must weigh the cost carefully before wielding its power. In my experience, the benefits of mastering this enchanted item far outweigh the challenges it presents.

How To Get The Soul Eater Charm

As a gamer, I navigate through the Resting Grounds, seeking the hidden charm. Underneath the Seer’s position and the Stag Station, I spot a grave that vibrates when I step on it. To uncover the secret underground passage, I employ my Desolate Dive/Descending Dark spell on this very grave. Following the tunnel to the right, I eventually discover a sarcophagus where the elusive Soul Eater resides.

Dashmaster

Charm Notches Required: 2x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

Dashmaster shines most when utilized for swift movement across Hallownest, as it reduces the Mothwing Cloak’s cooldown and enables players to dash vertically downwards. This two-star Charm works ideally for speedy trips between locations and can prove useful during challenging platforming segments.

How To Get The Dashmaster Charm

You’ll discover the Charm hidden beneath a statue at the left side of the bench situated outside the Mantis Village, close to the start of the Royal Waterways. Incidentally, Bretta is also located in that very area within the Fungal Wastes.

Sprintmaster

Charm Notches Required: 1x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

Equipping the Sprintmaster Charm enhances your Knight’s running speed, requiring one inventory space. While its impact may seem minimal, it significantly speeds up travel across expansive map areas for players who frequently navigate long distances.

How To Get The Sprintmaster Charm

Once gamers discover the Shopkeeper’s Key hidden within Crystal Peak, they may return it to Sly, causing an increase in his inventory items. Later on, you can buy the Sprintmaster for 400 Geo from Sly once you’ve handed over the key to him.

Heavy Blow

Charm Notches Required: 2x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

Instead of a Steady Body, which maintains your character’s stability, choosing Heavy Blow amplifies enemy knockback after being struck by Nail attacks. Additionally, it decreases the number of hits required to stun a boss by one. This can be advantageous as it provides more space between your Knight and enemies, creating opportunities for healing or spell casting. However, you’ll need to have two Notches to use this Charm.

How To Get The Heavy Blow Charm

Once you hand back the Shopkeeper’s Key to Sly, you’ll gain the ability to buy the Heavy Blow weapon from his store located in Dirtmouth, at a cost of 350 Geo.

Grubsong/Grubberfly’s Elegy

Charm Notches Required: 1x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

Equipping this item requires spending one Charm Notch and provides Soul upon the Knight receiving damage. Conversely, the Grubberfly’s Elegy Charm allows for a projectile to be launched using the Nail, causing half of its damage, but only when the Knight is fully healthy. This unique feature offers an additional ranged attack option for players.

How To Get The Grubsong and Grubberfly’s Elegy Charms

In the forgotten area known as the Forgotten Crossroads, the enigmatic character called the Grubfather will bestow upon you the Grubsong Charm once you’ve rescued 10 Grubs. By locating and liberating all the hidden Grubs scattered throughout Hallownest, you can later return to the Grubfather in the Forgotten Crossroads and receive the Grubberfly’s Elegy charm as a reward.

Shaman Stone

Charm Notches Required: 3x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

Enhancing your Charm enhances the power of your spells, significantly improving the potency of ranged attacks. Obtaining this boost necessitates having three Charm Notches.

How To Get The Shaman Stone Charm

To acquire The Shaman Stone, you’ll find it at Salubra’s shop in the Forgotten Crossroads, which costs 220 Geo. You can access her store by utilizing the Mantis Claw or Mothwing Cloak, or by traversing the Blue Lake from the Resting Grounds.

Steady Body

Charm Notches Required: 1x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

As a devoted fan, I’d like to share an exciting detail about The Charm. This magical item has the power to nullify any horizontal knockback that the Knight experiences from Nail hits. Yet, there’s a twist: this protection doesn’t extend to sideways knocks when jumping on those purple mushrooms in the Fungal Wastes. Interestingly, it allows for regular jumping but not for pogoing. And here’s another cool fact: equipping The Charm only requires a single notch!

How To Get The Steady Body Charm

Players can purchase this Charm from Salubra in the Forgotten Crossroads for 120 Geo.

Longnail

Charm Notches Required: 2x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

In the game Hollow Knight, Longail Charm stands out as one of the clearest to understand Charms. When players decide to carry it, they will notice an enhancement in their Nail’s reach by 15%. However, this improvement does not extend to the range of Nail Arts or Grubberfly’s Elegy. Longail Charm is particularly beneficial for attacking from relatively safer distances and executing pogo maneuvers without putting oneself at risk.

How To Get The Longnail Charm

This Charm can be purchased from Salubra for 300 Geo in the Forgotten Crossroads.

Fragile/Unbreakable Heart

Notches Required: 2x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

These Enchantments for Heart Charms – Fragile and Unbreakable – enhance a player’s vitality by adding two Health Shields (Masks). Each enchanted item requires two Crafting Points (Notches) to be equipped. Here’s the difference between them: the Fragile Heart breaks upon death, whereas the Unbreakable version remains intact.

How To Get The Fragile Heart

In the Fungal Wastes, close to the path ascending towards the Forgotten Crossroads, you’ll encounter Leg Eater. Upon your initial interaction, he requests 86 Geo to demonstrate something pleasant. After payment, Leg Eater opens his Charm store where he peddles rare Fragile Charms that shatter upon demise. Each charm can be purchased for 350 Geo, but if you’re wearing the Defender’s Crest Charm, Leg Eater offers a 20% discount on his items and services.

How To Upgrade The Unbreakable Heart

Leg Eater is capable of fixing damaged Fragile Charms, though the cost varies based on which charm was broken. However, they remain intact during Dream battles, and can be transformed into Invincible Charms upon bringing them to Divine following the Grimm Troupe’s arrival in Dirtmouth. To upgrade it to Invincible, Divine will take the Charm and then ask for 12,000 Geo as payment for its return.

Fragile/Unbreakable Greed

Charm Notches Required: 2x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

The Charm Duo of Fragile Greed enhances the quantity of Geo that adversaries drop. Each charm needs two Notches for use, yet the boost in Geo collection can be remarkably excessive.

How To Get Fragile and Unbreakable Greed

In this game, the vendor named Leg Eater offers Fragile Greed to the player for 250 Geo, but if you’re wearing the Defender’s Crest, you can get it at a reduced price of 200 Geo. If you decide to give this Charm to Divine to create its stronger version, Unbreakable, she will charge you 9,000 Geo for her services.

Fragile/Unbreakable Strength

Charm Notches Required: 3x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

When you put on either the Fragil or Unbreakable Strength Charms, your character’s Nail power will grow by 50%. However, keep in mind that these charms need three Notches to be activated. Unfortunately, the boost from these Charms doesn’t combine with the damage produced by Nail Arts.

How To Get Fragile and Unbreakable Strength Charms

Fragile Strength can be bought from Leg Eater for 600 Geo (480 Geo when wearing the Defender’s Crest), and Divine will upgrade it to Unbreakable Strength for 15,000 Geo after consuming it.

Spell Twister

Charm Notches Required: 2x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

Suitable for individuals who prefer using spells, this enchantment lowers the resource required (soul) to cast spells, making it potentially more advantageous compared to a direct spell damage booster. It requires two notches to activate.

How To Get The Spell Twister Charm

In a hidden chamber high above the Soul Sanctum, prior to battling the Soul Master in the arena, you’ll discover a room filled with Spell Twisters. Here, players will encounter enemies known as Mistakes and Follies that they can fight to gain Soul and cast spells capable of damaging multiple foes. The Charm you seek is affixed to a device situated on the right side of the room.

Quick Slash

Charm Notches Required: 3x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that this particular charm is a game-changer. Not only does it significantly boost the speed at which players can unleash attacks with their Nail, but it also enhances the rate at which damage is dealt and Soul regeneration occurs. This charm, in my humble opinion, is worth every one of the three Charm Notches it requires to equip. It’s a must-have for any serious player who wants to take their gameplay to the next level!

How To Get The Quick Slash Charm

The Quick Slash can be located at Kingdom’s Edge, all the way to the east beyond Oro’s hut. In an adjoining room, you’ll find a training dummy and a breakable wall for destruction. Afterward, head down and to your left where there’s a tunnel. Inside this tunnel, you’ll encounter the Charm, with a colossal corpse in front of it.

Mark of Pride

Charm Notches Required: 3x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

With the Prideful Mark charm active, your Nail’s reach extends by a quarter, and you’ll need to collect three notches to make it yours. However, both the range of your Nail Arts and Grubberfly’s Elegy remain unchanged, just like with the Longnail charm.

How To Get The Mark of Pride Charm

After vanquishing the Mantis Lords within the Fungal Wastes, players are entitled to claim the Charm. Upon successful completion of the fight, a new room will be accessible in the Mantis Village, where a treasure chest awaits, granting access for players to gather their prize.

Fury of the Fallen

Charm Notches Required: 2x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

As a fervent admirer, let me share my insights about The Fury of the Fallen Charm. This captivating charm requires two Notches for activation and amplifies my Nail damage by an impressive 75% when I’m sporting only one Mask. It’s a versatile tool, albeit with a touch of danger, that can significantly boost the firepower of skilled players like myself.

How To Get The Fury of the Fallen Charm

At the onset of the game, you can grab this Charm in the King’s Pass. In the lower right corner of the room with spiky flooring, there’s a concealed path veiled in shadow, which players can navigate. After dealing with the spikes that are too wide to jump over, you can clear them by pogo-jumping or dashing when you’ve got the Mothwing Cloak. Subsequently, lower yourself where a lore tablet is situated, and to the left, there’s a chest containing Fury of the Fallen.

Thorns of Agony

Charm Notches Required: 1x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

As a valiant gamer-knight, whenever I’m geared up, a momentary burst of spiky vines erupts from me upon taking a hit, targeting foes nearby. Equipping this badge requires one Notch, making it an invaluable asset when I find myself surrounded by hordes of enemies.

How To Get The Thorns of Agony Charm

To get to the Charm, players should use the Mothwing Cloak. This item is hidden within a labyrinth of Greenpath, which is guarded by luminous creatures called Charged Lumaflies. These creatures need precise timing to be navigated past without suffering any harm.

Baldur Shell

Charm Notches Required: 2x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

As a gamer, I’ve found this Charm to be quite handy. It sets me back two Notches to equip, but it forms a shield around me while I’m healing. This protective barrier can withstand up to four hits before it cracks. Once it’s damaged, I need to take a break on a bench to fix it back up and make it ready for the next round of action.

How To Get The Baldur Shell Charm

Even though the Baldur Shell is located at the Howling Cliffs, it’s more convenient for players to navigate to the correct room from Greenpath. Here’s what they should do: Locate a room with numerous small platforms and spikes, then climb to the top where you’ll find a chest. However, opening this chest will only grant one Geo. To proceed, jump into the chest instead, which will unveil a room housing two Elder Baldurs. Defeating them will expose a path to the right, leading to the spot where the Baldur Shell is hidden.

Flukenest

Charm Notches Required: 3x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

Equipping this Charm will set you back three Notches and transform the Knight’s Vengeful Spirit/Shade Soul spell into a cloud of flukes. While visually impressive and worth trying by every player, its impact on gameplay might be slightly disappointing considering the cost in Notches.

How To Get The Flukenest Charm

In the Royal Waterways, players receive the Flukenest as a prize upon successfully overcoming the elusive Flukemarm boss that lies concealed.

Defender’s Crest

Charm Notches Required: 1x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

When you equip the Charm on the Knight, a harmful mist is released, needing one Notch for activation. An exciting advantage of wearing the Defender’s Crest is that it not only harms enemies but also allows more interaction with other characters. For instance, Relic Seeker Lemm will refuse trade offers, Leg Eater grants a 20% discount on goods and repairs, and Tuk gifts a free Rancid Egg when equipped.

How To Get The Defender’s Crest Charm

Players will receive the Defender’s Crest after defeating Dung Defender in the Royal Waterways.

Glowing Womb

Charm Notches Required: 2x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

For a fee of two Charm Notches, Glowing Womb allows the Knight to generate offspring that attack enemies, incurring damage. While this ability can prove beneficial in certain scenarios, it’s fair to say that players are drawn to it and similar summoning spells not for their effectiveness, but rather because they find them visually appealing.

How To Get The Glowing Womb Charm

At the Neglected Intersection, there’s a secret door to the right of the Pretender Knight’s battlefield and directly left of the Armored Husks. Once unlocked, players must navigate through until they locate an area with a spiky passageway. By employing the Crystal Talisman, players can safely propel the Knight forward. Along the way, players will encounter Aspid Guards and their matriarchs. Only after defeating these foes can they grab the Charm, which rests before a massive carcass.

Quick Focus/Deep Focus

Charm Notches Required: 3x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

1. The Deep Focus Charm reduces the casting time for Focus Soul by one third and requires three Charm Points to activate. Unlike Quick Focus, this charm doubles the number of Masks restored during healing but extends the duration needed for Focus Soul. Furthermore, it takes four Charm Points to equip Deep Focus.

How To Get The Quick Focus and Deep Focus Charms

Behind Cornifer’s location on Crystal Peak, adventurers can discover a concealed crystal-filled cave enriched with Quick Focus. Nearby, there’s a destructible wall adjacent to the Husk Miner, requiring players to employ the Crystal Heart to access Deep Focus.

Lifeblood Heart/Core

Charm Notches Required: 3x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I have come to appreciate the intricacies of game mechanics that add depth and strategy to the gaming experience. In this particular game, the addition of Lifeblood Masks and the Lifeblood Core is a welcome feature that enhances the gameplay significantly.

How To Get The Lifeblood Heart and Lifeblood Core Charms

Salubra offers the Lifeblood Heart for sale at her store for 250 Geo. Meanwhile, the Lifeblood Core is found in the Abyss. Inside this area, there’s a sealed door on the left wall of the main chamber. This door can only be unlocked when a player has collected 14 or more Lifeblood Masks in total. These masks can be obtained by purchasing and using the Lifeblood Heart, receiving Joni’s Blessing, and slaying Lifeseeds that spawn from Lifeblood Cocoons.

The Lifeblood Core Charm and an Arcane Egg are found within. It’s advisable to gather the Arcane Egg first because once you pick up the Charm, the door cannot be reopened again.

Joni’s Blessing

Charm Notches Required: 4x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I find this Charm quite intriguing. It transforms all of a player’s masks into Lifeblood Masks, providing a unique twist to the gameplay. The additional 40% increase in Masks for the Knight is an appealing bonus that could potentially tilt the odds in one’s favor. However, the downside of not being able to heal using Soul might prove challenging for some players, as it alters the usual healing strategy. Lastly, requiring four Charm Notches to equip may be a bit steep for those who are budget-conscious or just starting out. Overall, this Charm seems to offer both advantages and disadvantages, making it a thoughtful addition to one’s arsenal, depending on the player’s playstyle and preferences.

How To Get The Joni’s Blessing Charm

In the Howling Cliffs, at the resting spot of Blue Child Joni, located to the right of Cornifer’s position, players encounter a treacherous area with spikes and hostile creatures. For smoother navigation in this darkened region, it is recommended to have previously bought the Lumafly Lantern from Sly. As players advance, they’ll notice numerous blue butterflies, suggesting a Lifeblood source nearby. This will guide them towards Joni’s grave where a glowing Charm awaits.

Hiveblood

Charm Notches Required: 4x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

The Hiveblood Charm needs four significant upgrades to activate. This charm has two main effects: first, any Mask that was destroyed due to damage will naturally regenerate without the player needing to expend Soul for healing. Second, it causes hostile creatures within the Hive to ignore the Knight, making combat less challenging.

How To Get The Hiveblood Charm

Players can obtain this Charm after defeating the Hive Knight in the Hive area.

Spore Shroom

Charm Notches Required: 1x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

As the Knight recovers, it releases a harmful spore cloud disregarding any protective shields its foes might possess. This enchantment, known as the Charm, requires a single Notch for activation and is discoverable within the Fungal Wastes.

How To Get The Spore Shroom Charm

Near the entryway to the Queen’s Gardens, I stumbled upon a chamber filled with bubbling acid pits. To safely traverse these perilous pools, I discovered that leaping on the scattered purple mushrooms was essential. For those daring enough to venture down to the lower level via the Mantis Claw, a hidden nook on the room’s far right revealed the prized Spore Shroom Charm!

Sharp Shadow

Charm Notches Required: 2x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

Equipping the Sharp Shadow Charm requires spending two units, and it inflicts damage on adversaries when the knight darts past them while also extending the reach of the dash.

How To Get The Sharp Shadow Charm

Players aiming for the Sharp Shadow Charm should acquire the Shade Cloak upgrade first. Located to the southeast of Deepnest, there’s a Shade Gate that prevents access. To bypass this barrier, simply employ your Shade Clock ability.

Shape of Unn

Charm Notches Required: 2x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

The Shape of Unn Charm requires two Charm Notches to equip and allows the player to move while healing. This is a seriously underrated skill, as it allows the player to keep dodging attacks.

How To Get the Shape of Unn Charm

To navigate to the hidden area, players need Isma’s Tear because the Lake of Unn is corrosive. Once they’ve crossed the Lake of Unn, they should proceed towards the southwest part of the secret location. There, they’ll encounter Unn who will reward the Knight with the Charm.

Nailmaster’s Glory

Charm Notches Required: 1x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

The enchantment known as “Nailmaster’s Glory Charm” decreases the time required for charging Nail Arts, and it requires just one “Notch” to activate. But, please note that this charm cannot be acquired until certain conditions have been met first.

How To Get The Nailmaster’s Glory Charm

After collecting every Nail Art from the three Nail Masters, players should seek out Sly in Dirtmouth, as he now possesses a hidden room within his store. Descend into this secret area and converse with Sly, who will reward the Knight with the Nailmaster’s Glory.

Weaversong

Charm Notches Required: 2x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

At a price of two notches, this enchantment calls forth a trio of Weaverlings who engage in combat against opponents. Should the player converse with the Midwife when adorned with the Weaversong, she will offer extra dialogue.

How To Get The Weaversong Charm

In my gaming adventure, I stumbled upon a hidden charm nestled in Deepnest, just south of the Queen’s Gardens entrance. After navigating past a devout stalker, I discovered a secret path that led me to an old, deserted Weaver’s Den once inhabited by the spider clan. To explore this den, I needed the Crystal Heart as a key. Deep within, I found a wall that could be broken revealing the Weaversong, a melody said to open hidden paths.

Dream Wielder

Charm Notches Required: 1x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

Using the Dream Nail, this Charm cuts down on the duration of your attacks, boosts the chances of acquiring Essence from foes, and enhances the quantity of Soul gained when striking enemies with the Dream Nail. The Dream Wielder requires one Notch for use.

How To Get The Dream Wielder Charm

Once the player successfully acquires the Dream Nail, they can begin gathering Essence. This valuable resource is employed to enhance the Dream Nail and can be procured from various sources like random loot drops from adversaries, Whispering Roots, or by vanquishing Warrior Dreams and Dream Bosses. When a player has amassed 500 units of Essence, the Seer in the Resting Grounds will bestow upon them the title of Dream Wielder as a reward.

Dreamshield

Charm Notches Required: 3x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

With a three-notch activation, this enchantment provides a spinning barrier for your knight, safeguarding against incoming attacks and inflicting slightly increased damage on adversaries when they’re struck by the Nail.

How To Get the Dreamshield Charm

Downstairs from the Seer’s chamber in the Resting Grounds, you’ll find an opportunity to grab the Dreamshield.

Grimmchild/Carefree Melody

Charm Notches Required: 2x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

As a gamer, I’ve got this Charm here that needs two Notches to wear, and boy, does it pack a punch! Once equipped, it summons the Grimmchild, a little guy who loves taking down enemies. Now, when the Grimmchild is by my side, flames start popping up all over Hallownest’s map. These flames are like beacons, guiding me to Grimmkins scattered around. My task? Absorb those Grimmkins with the Grimmchild to make him even stronger!

As a gamer, I find myself torn between two options: Carefree Melody and another unnamed item. The former demands three notches for me to wield it, offering an enticing opportunity to shield myself from enemy assaults. However, only one of these can be in my possession at any given moment.

How To Get The Grimmchild Charm

1. To get these Charms, gamers initially need to bring the Grimm Troupe to Dirtmouth by summoning them. In the Howling Cliffs, there’s a concealed room with a lantern that needs lighting; once lit, the Troupe will show up in town. Upon talking to Troupe Master Grimm for the first time, players get the initial version of the Grimmchild. Once they gather the second set of Flames, players must defeat Grimm to improve the Charm to its third stage.

To completely enhance Grimmchild, gamers need to gather all the last Grimmkin Flames and revisit Grimm’s tent. You’ll find him deeply asleep at the rear end. By using Dream Nail on him, you’ll engage in a challenging battle against one of the game’s most difficult bosses: Nightmare King Grimm. Overcoming him will reward players with the ultimate and strongest version of Grimmchild.

How To Convert The Grimmchild Charm Into Carefree Melody

Instead, players could choose to send off the Grimm Troupe, turning Grimmchild into a Carefree Melody. To do this, they need to talk to Brumm, who is part of the Troupe and plays an accordion, once they’ve defeated Grimm initially. After the defeat, Brumm will have moved from his regular location and can be found in the Distant Village within Deepnest. Here, he will agree to aid the Knight in carrying out this action.

After agreeing to his proposal, players are required to visit the Howling Cliffs again to observe Brumm finishing the banishment. Following this, Brumm vanishes and a creature similar to him named Nymm settles in Dirtmouth instead. It’s Nymm who rewards the player with Carefree Melody upon conversation.

Kingsoul/Void Heart

Charm Notches Required: 5x

Hollow Knight: All Charm Locations

The KingSoul Talisman requires five units of currency called Notches and will continuously produce Soul every two seconds. Despite having the highest cost to equip a Charm, what truly sets the KingSoul apart is its ability to be converted into an enduring Void Heart, provided the player possesses the Awakened Dream Nail and both pieces of the KingSoul.

1. Obtaining the Void Heart will make it a permanent part of your equipment and eliminate its Notch cost. This change will cause Siblings, Void Tendrils, and Knight’s Shade to become passive abilities. Additionally, getting the Void Heart will allow you to access the Pantheon of Hallownest in Godhome. Furthermore, acquiring the Void Heart will unlock four different possible endings for players.

How To Get The Kingsoul Charm Halves

Players need to gather and join two pieces of Kingsoul. You can get the left piece by talking to the White Lady in the Queen’s Gardens, beyond the Traitor Lord’s battlefield. The right half is concealed within the White Palace, which is accessible through the Ancient Basin, to the left of the Hidden Station. Here, players can use Dream Nail on a Kingsmould corpse.

How To Get The Void Heart

Once the two parts of Kingsoul are united, a fresh zone within the Abyss will become accessible for players to explore. To gain entry, they need to employ the Awoken Dream Nail on the egg hidden at the final point of the labyrinth. Following the conclusion of the scene, they’ll receive the Void Heart as their reward.
