Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 SMG is OP

Highlights

  • The Vaznev-9K SMG dominates the Warzone meta in Season 5 with improved stats like TTK and damage range.
  • Nerfs to popular guns create opportunity for the Vaznev-9K to shine.

As a dedicated Call of Duty enthusiast with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that the Vaznev-9K SMG from Modern Warfare 2 has taken center stage in the Warzone meta during Season 5. With its impressive Time-to-Kill (TTK) and damage range, it’s giving some of the heavyweights a run for their money!

In the realm of Call of Duty: Warzone, the Vaznev-9K SMG, initially seen in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, has become a formidable weapon due to the updates during Season 5. These enhancements have made the Vaznev-9K an attractive choice compared to other SMGs like the Superi 46 and WSP Stinger that have dominated the multiplayer scene.

In the gaming world of mine, I jumped back into the fray of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 on July 24. Just like previous seasons, the devs behind Call of Duty have been fine-tuning weapons and gear post-launch. The August 6 balance update was a game-changer, though, as it packed quite a punch – literally! It took a swipe at some of the game’s favorite guns, dialing back their power significantly. For instance, my trusty JAK Cataclysm Conversion Kit for the RPK LMG from Modern Warfare 2 saw some major adjustments, reducing its overall firepower.

In his latest video, Call of Duty YouTube content creator WhosImmortal highlighted that the Vaznev-9K Submachine Gun has significantly improved with Warzone Season 5’s first update, making it a formidable competitor against SMGs from Modern Warfare 3. The Time-to-Kill (TTK) of the Vaznev-9K is now comparable to the FJX Horus, and its effective damage range has been expanded to 11.43 meters compared to the previous 8.89. Additionally, the minimum and mid damage of the Vaznev-9K SMG have increased to 23 and 27 respectively. This upgrade has catapulted the Modern Warfare 2 SMG into one of the top tier options within its class. WhosImmortal also commended the Vaznev-9K for its user-friendly iron sights, making it a potent weapon that’s relatively easy to handle.

Call of Duty YouTuber Points Out Vaznev-9K SMG’s Strengths Following Warzone Season 5 Update

In the game Warzone, certain accessories are suggested for the Vaznev-9K loadout. These include the ZEHMN35 Compensator, KAS-1 254mm barrel, Paracord Grip, 9mm High Grain bullets, and a 45-round magazine. These attachments help reduce recoil for better control, increase shooting range slightly, and provide enough ammo to outmaneuver opponents in Warzone while still offering ample firepower.

A Season 5 Reloaded update is expected to release later this month with even more weapon balance updates, so Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone players may need to prepare for changes soon. Fans can also expect new maps, weapons, and much more to arrive with the Reloaded update. Further, the Call of Duty NEXT event will reveal more details about Black Ops 6 and the future of Warzone as well on August 28.
