Wuthering Waves- Obelisk Guardian Location & How To Beat

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent traversing fantastical landscapes and battling formidable foes, I can confidently say that the Obelisk Guardian in Wuthering Waves has earned its place among the most challenging adversaries I’ve encountered. This towering titan of stone, nestled high upon Desorock Highlands, is a testament to the game’s intricate design and attention to detail.

Similar to the challenging/red adversaries found in Wuthering Waves, the Obelisk Guardian is no pushover; it requires effort to defeat. It has a knack for defense and can launch attacks from a distance that could easily knock out your characters. Approaching it isn’t straightforward, and by the time you manage to get close, it’s already gearing up for a powerful counterattack.

The Obelisk Protector, at level 85, might pose a challenging battle, so it’s crucial to stay tactical with your actions and agile enough to dodge swiftly. Overcoming him could earn players not only a trophy but also an Echo, which would be advantageous for any healing characters in the game Wuthering Waves.

The Obelisk Guardian is located in Desorock Highlands, up high on a cliff in the Camp Overwatch subarea. You’ll need to fast travel to the Resonance Beacon towards the bottom of the mountain and head all the way up.

The Obelisk Guardian will be perched on a rock, patiently waiting near the edge of a cliff.

How To Defeat the Obelisk Guardian In Wuthering Waves

Overcoming the Obelisk Guardian might require some effort, yet it’s not unbeatable without a complex battle plan. Primarily, concentrate on nimbleness and precision in your movements, especially when it comes to evading and timing your actions correctly.

Keep Moving and Don’t Stay Still

Keep in mind that the Obelisk Warden possesses an extended range of attack, so avoid standing still for lengthy periods as you might be struck by its powerful shockwaves. Instead, move around it at a distance and be prepared to dodge while seeking a suitable opportunity to counterattack when safe.

Notice Its Attack Patterns And Dodge

The Obelisk Protector is proficient in three distinct attack styles, rotating through them randomly without a set pattern.

  • The first is when it throws a massive boulder at you. This attack is limited to when you’re at an adequate distance from it. You’ll need to watch out and make sure to dodge it since it packs quite the punch.
  • The charge attack occurs when it locks its head in and runs towards you at full speed. This attack will interrupt your characters’ movements and deal significant damage, so make sure to dodge it at the correct time.
  • When it raises its arms and feet, you can time yourself to parry the oncoming attack and deal some damage. The yellow glowing circles will indicate when to strike and this will help in shaving off some HP.

Be Patient During The Fight

Approach the Obelisk Guardian with caution, as success in this battle largely depends on your ability to remain patient. Rushing headlong could lead to unexpected attacks from the enemy, which might prove harmful for your team. Also, be mindful of not getting too close to the cliff’s edge during combat; it increases the risk of being cornered and potentially losing the fight.

As someone who’s been around the block a few times when it comes to video games, I can share a trick that I’ve picked up along the way: pushing the Obelisk Guardian off the cliff to win the fight. Now, this isn’t for the faint of heart or those who prefer playing by the rules, but if you’re looking to mix things up and gather some extra Echo materials, it’s worth a try!

After triumphing over the Obelisk Guardian, I’m rewarded with the Trophy: Just A Rock, plus a neat stack of 10 Astrites!
