As a seasoned gamer with countless hours under my belt, I can confidently say that the latest PS Plus Extra update is nothing short of a gaming feast! The addition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on August 20th is like a dream come true for me. I remember the days when I used to spend sleepless nights exploring the vast open world of Temeria, Velen, Skellige, and Novigrad. Now, I can relive those epic adventures without even having to buy the game!
On August 20th, the enhanced tier of your PlayStation Plus membership will gain access to ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ along with nine other games. Every month, PlayStation Plus refreshes its Extra library, allowing subscribers to enjoy fresh games while phasing out those nearing their departure.
Regrettably, ten games will be removed from PlayStation Plus Extra on August 20th. The following titles are departing: “Destroy All Humans”, “Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed”, “Lost Judgment”, “Midnight Fight Express”, “Moving Out 2”, “NBA 2K24”, “Need for Speed Unbound”, “Sea of Stars”, “SpellForce 3 Reforced”, and “Trials of Mana”. However, it’s been confirmed that ten new games will join the service on August 20th as well.
On August 20th, Sony has revealed that they will be adding the following games to their PS Plus Extra service: Cult of the Lamb, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, Ride 5 (available only on PS5), Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, Sword Art Online: Last Recollection, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Watch Dogs 2, and Wild Hearts (available only on PS5). Most of these new games for August 2024 can be played on both PS4 and PS5 consoles, with Ride 5 and Wild Hearts being exclusive to the PS5 version of PS Plus Extra.

Among the freshly announced PS Plus Extra games for August 2024, it’s evident that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the main attraction. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, one of the highest-rated video games ever made, received widespread critical acclaim upon its launch in 2015 and won several prestigious awards. This game offers gamers a wealth of content, with many spending hundreds of hours exploring its vast world. As such, PS Plus Extra subscribers are sure to feel they’ve gotten their money’s worth once The Witcher 3 becomes available on August 20.
As a gamer, I’d surely recommend giving “Cult of the Lamb” a second glance if you’re a PS Plus Extra subscriber. This game was one of the top-rated titles in 2022, and recently, it received a significant update! Now, you can enjoy co-op play with friends, which makes the experience even more engaging.
