After three weeks since its release, players of Pokemon Legends: Z-A are eagerly anticipating the Mega Dimension DLC, which promises fresh content and even more Mega Evolutions. Leaks suggest the DLC will introduce 19 new Mega Evolutions, though story details are still unknown. While an official release date hasn’t been announced, fans won’t have to wait long for something new – Season 2 is confirmed to launch on November 5th, bringing updates and changes to the game.
The first season of Pokemon Legends: Z-A wraps up on November 4th at 9:59 PM PST. Players who reached Rank K in online battles were rewarded with Mega Greninja and Greninjite, and the upcoming Season 2 will offer a similar reward featuring Delphox. Beyond that, two more previously unseen Pokemon will become available when Season 2 begins. Here’s a look at the new Pokemon coming soon:
- Mega Delphox, which is obtained after reaching Rank S in Season 2 by claiming Delphoxite as a reward.
 - Xerneas, which will no longer be banned from Ranked Battles and will have no teambuilding restrictions.
 - Yveltal, which will no longer be banned from Ranked Battles and will have no teambuilding restrictions.

Season 2 will let all players use Mega Delphox, Xerneas, and Yveltal in online battles, significantly impacting the competitive scene. Usually, it takes much longer for new Pokémon games to make Legendary Pokémon available for battling, but Xerneas and Yveltal will be usable just three weeks after the season launches.
In Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Zygarde is still the only Pokemon that won’t be allowed in official competitive battles for Season 2.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s ‘New’ Legendary Pokemon Are About to Dominate Online Battles
Despite not receiving new Mega Evolutions or their signature aura abilities, Xerneas and Yveltal in Pokemon Legends: Z-A remain incredibly strong Pokemon with top-tier stats and unique moves. Xerneas utilizes Geomancy to sharply increase its Special Attack, Special Defense, and speed, while Yveltal employs Oblivion Wing, a powerful Flying-type move that also heals it.
In Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s ranked battles, certain Pokemon can be a huge advantage. Their speed allows for quick repositioning and attacks, stat boosts significantly improve performance, and self-healing increases survivability. These Pokemon also boast strong attack power, combined with high HP and defenses, making items like the Expert Belt and Assault Vest particularly effective choices.
In Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you can get the Assault Vest by completing a side quest or finding it at Racine Construction after you’ve finished the main story. If you give the Assault Vest to Xerneas, it won’t be able to use its Geomancy move because Geomancy is a status move.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Season 2 Brings Delphox Back on the Menu
Mega Delphox in Pokemon Legends: Z-A is shaping up to be a top contender. It will have some of the highest Special Attack stats in the game, second only to Mega Zygarde, which can’t be used in online battles. Given the popularity of Ice-type Pokemon like Glaceon, Avalugg, Vanilluxe, and Froslass in competitive play – a response to strong Dragon and Ground-types – Delphox will be a strong counter with its powerful Fire-type attacks.
Delphox also learns Reflect and Light Screen, moves often seen on top teams in Pokemon Legends: Z-A because they significantly reduce damage taken by the entire team. Mega Delphox will be a strong special attacker, and while it doesn’t naturally have moves effective against Dragon and Ground-type Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, it can learn powerful coverage moves like Solar Beam, Dazzling Gleam, Shadow Ball, and Focus Blast.
