The 2.5D pixel art RPG Elestrals Awakened has successfully reached $1 million on Kickstarter. Similar to Pokemon, the game focuses on building relationships with unique creatures, but these creatures are inspired by stories from ancient Greek mythology.
In November 2022, the creators of the trading card game Elestrals successfully funded their project on Kickstarter with the help of 7,530 backers who pledged a total of $1,470,355. Building on that success, they returned to Kickstarter in October 2024 with Elestrals Clash!, a digital version of the game.
Elestrals Awakened Is An Ambitious Pokemon-Like Game That’s Raised Over $1 Million
The creators of Elestrals recently launched a new Kickstarter campaign for a full role-playing game set in their Greek mythology-inspired world. In less than a month, Elestrals Awakened received over $1 million from 7,487 backers – more than four times their initial $250,000 goal. As of November 3rd, the developers announced that it’s the most funded monster-catching RPG on Kickstarter and is on track to become the most funded video game project of 2025 on the platform.
As of today, there are still three days remaining to support the Elestrals Awakened Kickstarter campaign, which ends on Friday, November 7th. The highest reward tiers – $1,000, $5,000, and $9,999 – are already fully booked, but you can still get a copy of the game! The $25 tier gets you a digital download for Steam or Nintendo Switch when it launches. If you’ve pledged for a tier that includes physical items like Elestrals TCG starter packs, those are expected to ship around April 2026. The game is currently planned to release by December 2027.
Beyond its charming pixel art and monster-collecting gameplay, Elestrals Awakened plays a lot like the classic Pokemon games. Players start by picking one of eight elemental Spirits – like fire, earth, or water – and these Elestrals can ‘Ascend,’ evolving into stronger forms with new abilities and appearances. The game also introduces fresh ideas, letting you change an Elestral’s element to learn different moves.
