Escape From Tarkov‘s long-awaited 1.0 version is launching on November 15th – just around the corner! Though, with the game’s history, it feels like we’ve been waiting for months and eleven days. It seems even the servers are a little confused about the date!
Several players, including Twitch streamer Axel_TV, unexpectedly lost their progress in the game. Axel_TV shared a clip on X showing what happened, and the game developers quickly addressed the issue with a fix after seeing the post.
He wasn’t the only one affected. While today’s issues didn’t impact everyone, it wasn’t just a single, random problem with one account.
Battlestate Games acknowledged a problem exists, but offered very few details. Their announcement didn’t explain what the issue was or how they planned to address it – in fact, it was quite brief, even shorter than this paragraph.
According to another post, those previously mentioned problems have been fixed, but it’s unclear exactly what was done to resolve them because very little detail was provided.
Is Escape From Tarkov Ready For Release Day?
As the full release of Tarkov gets closer, and with the new extraction shooter ARC Raiders gaining attention, people are responding to discussions with a lot of sarcasm and playful criticism.
With developers eager to build excitement for their game, this mistake could seriously hinder their progress and potentially drive more players to a competing game that’s a humorous take on the same genre.
This might be why Battlestate Games hasn’t said much about the progression resets. They likely don’t want players to notice problems by looking at official announcements. They usually just acknowledge an issue with a simple “we’re looking into it,” followed by a reassurance that everything is fine – which is true, but doesn’t really explain what’s happening.
No matter what the developers say beforehand, players will quickly be able to tell if the game is running smoothly when it officially launches. If Battlestate Games gets the large number of players they’re expecting, any server problems will become very noticeable. Basically, issues become much harder to hide when more people are experiencing them.
