PlayStation Plus Premium members can now enjoy cloud streaming on their PlayStation Portal devices, starting today, Sony announced.
PlayStation announced on their blog that PS Portal users will soon be able to stream certain PS5 games directly to their device using a PS Plus Premium subscription. The update launches November 5th at 6 PM Pacific Time / November 6th at 2 AM GMT and includes improvements to gameplay, a fresh user interface, and other new features.
What Games Can You Cloud Stream on the PS Portal?
PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will soon be able to stream certain digital PS5 games they already own, including popular titles like Astro Bot, Borderlands 4, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Fortnite, Ghost of Yōtei, Grand Theft Auto V, Resident Evil 4, Cyberpunk 2077, God of War Ragnarök, Hogwarts Legacy, Sword of the Sea, and The Last of Us Part II Remastered, among others. Redesigned UI With Dedicated Cloud Streaming Tab for PS Portal
The latest update for PlayStation Portal improves the home screen with three new sections: Remote Play, Cloud Streaming, and Search. The Remote Play tab lets you use the device like before, connecting it to your PS5 to play games you already have installed on your console.
With Cloud Streaming, PlayStation Plus members can instantly play select games without needing to download them first. A new search feature also makes it easy to find games that support this streaming capability.
Enhanced Gameplay Experience with 3D Audio Support, In-Game Store, And More
This update includes several new features, like 3D Audio support for games played remotely or streamed from the cloud – though you’ll need a compatible audio device to use it. We’ve also added a Passcode lock for extra security and a Network Status Screen, which helps you quickly check your internet connection – important for a smooth cloud streaming experience.
We’ve also included some great new features! You can now use an In-Game Store to purchase extra items and currency while you play, especially useful for cloud streaming. We’ve also improved accessibility with features like a screen reader and the ability to adjust text size. Plus, you can now easily invite friends to join your games.
