
DICE, the team behind Battlefield 6, has temporarily removed the Lock-Guided Missile for the Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV). This comes after players found a bug last month that allowed the missile to bypass enemy defenses. The studio announced they’re making fixes and plan to release a patch next week to address the issue.
Despite being a major hit for EA and DICE, Battlefield 6 has had some problems. This week, the developers fixed a glitch in the new Strikepoint mode that let players unfairly earn up to 2 million experience points. They had to temporarily limit XP gains in that mode while they work on a lasting fix. While a permanent solution’s release date is unknown, players are hoping it will arrive with next week’s update, which is expected to bring back the Lock-Guided Missile for the IFV.
Battlefield 6 Disables The IFV’s Lock-Guided Missile
Vehicles are a core part of the Battlefield 6 experience, and recently, one type in particular has become extremely popular – but for the wrong reasons. The game’s two infantry fighting vehicles, the M3A3 Bradley and STRF 09 A4, have a lock-on missile that’s been far too effective. Normally, countermeasures would protect vehicles from these missiles, but a bug allowed the IFV’s missile to ignore them and almost always hit its target. Because of this issue, the developers at DICE have temporarily disabled the weapon while they work on a fix.
The update is now available in the game, and DICE plans to bring the weapon back in a new update for Battlefield 6 next week. While a specific date for the update hasn’t been announced, it likely won’t include major new features, as a larger update is scheduled for November 18th. This November update, called the California Resistance update, will kick off Battlefield 6‘s first season, adding new content to Battlefield REDSEC, a new map, and a limited-time game mode, among other things.
Following player feedback that challenges in Battlefield 6 were taking too long and felt repetitive, DICE recently released a big update. They’ve made a lot of changes to simplify things – for example, the number of enemy suppressions needed with LMGs was lowered from 300 to just 10, and the number of revives required as a Support player dropped from 200 to 60. Weapon assignments are easier to complete too, now requiring only 3,000 damage with Assault Rifles instead of the previous 10,000.
