How To Capture Animals In Once Human

In the world of Once Human, as a gamer, I find myself in a unique position where I can capture wild animals by taking them down when their health is running low. However, before this becomes an option for me, I must first unlock two crucial memetic nodes – Animal Capture and Animal Taming – within the Logistics section of the Memetics menu. These advanced memetic nodes are at Tier 4, meaning they’ll only become available once my server transitions into its second phase.

After learning Animal Taming, you can create the necessary Tranquilizing Throwing Needles by using a Medium or High-Grade Crafting Station, ensuring that you have the required resources either in your personal inventory or stored at your base.

  • 5 Rubber
  • 8 Engineering Plastic
  • 3 Steel Ingot
  • 3 Stardust Source

1. Once you’ve crafted your needles, store them in your hotbar like any other projectile item. Then, locate an animal you wish to tame and attack it until its health bar reaches a certain level. After that, hurl one of your needles at the weakened creature. When it falls unconscious, interact with it to add it to your inventory.

1) Be mindful when you throw, or else you might misplace your needle. Gathering large amounts of Rubber, Engineered Plastics, and Stardust may not be easy due to their scarcity, as the collection process can prove exhausting.

Return to your base in “Once Human” and construct an animal enclosure by setting up fencing on a base structure. Ensure that the fences are tightly fitted with no spaces between them, to prevent the animal from escaping.

After that, access the toolbar in your inventory, select the unconscious animal, and position it inside the pen by interacting with it. This can be done similar to how you’d move a vehicle around. Now, let’s construct an Animal Trough. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 15 Adhesive
  • 12 Sintered Brick
  • 15 Aluminum Ingot
  • 50 Log

Feeding and Improving Tameness

As a passionate caretaker, the kind of fare I offer in my enclosures varies depending on the creature I’ve managed to capture. Engage with your animal to uncover intricate details about its preferences, diet, and Tameness levels. Aim to maintain your pet’s Tameness above 20% to ensure it stays content. If it drops below that, it may attempt to flee. But keep it content, and you’ll be rewarded with valuable resources such as meat and hide.

Animals begin producing materials when their tameness level hits 50%. At full tameness (100%), they produce more resources abundantly. Notably, if the creature is a predator such as a wolf or bear, it will defend you once its tameness level reaches 80%.
