As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I’ve seen the industry transform from 2D sprites to hyper-realistic graphics, and I’ve been through countless console wars, rumors, and leaks. The latest buzz around Xbox exclusives heading to PlayStation is intriguing, to say the least.
Prior to Gamescom, there’s a buzz about various speculations. The most recent whispers hint that the exclusive Xbox game, Forza Horizon 5, might make its way onto the PlayStation 5.
Lately, it’s becoming common for games initially exclusive to Xbox to also appear on the PlayStation 5, such as Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush, which were released on the PS5 earlier in the year.
Speculations abound as the August 21 kickoff of Gamescom approaches, during which Xbox will broadcast live streams over a span of three days, featuring demonstrations of numerous forthcoming and present video games.
Microsoft and Xbox have made official announcements about the games they’ll be featuring at their Gamescom events, and some of these games, such as “Forza Horizon 5,” have already been revealed through various leaks.
Previous rumors that have since been proven false appear to substantiate the idea that an Xbox-exclusive game will eventually be made available on PlayStation.
New Rumor Suggests Forza Horizon 5
The latest rumor stems from user Shinobi602 on ResetEra who originally claimed a new Xbox port to PlayStation would be announced during the Xbox Gamescom livestream. The leaker suggested in the post it would be a big title ported over.
After the leak occurred and with numerous whispers circulating, the games that drew most attention were reportedly Forza Horizon 5 and Starfield.
In reaction to the initial leak, another trustworthy source known as eXtas1s, provided a GIF that led many to believe Forza Horizon 5 was possibly shifting to the PlayStation 5.
Microsoft Flight Simulator May Fly Over To PS5
Contrary to the earlier rumor, Windowscentral points to their sources from a different leaker with an equally solid track record.
This leak, posted in a Discord thread, shows the leaker has leaked accurate information on a few different items, including Xbox games becoming multiplatform, the upcoming Indiana Jones game being a first-person game with Troy Baker voicing the game’s main character, and that the next DOOM game would not be an Xbox exclusive.
The leak suggests Microsoft Flight Simulator will be the game headed to PS5, as the game will be made multiplatform.
Sparking speculation, Xbox is slated to reveal advancements on projects like Starfield, Forza Horizon 5, and Microsoft Flight Simulator during their Gamescom presentations.
It appears that any game landing on the PlayStation 5, it’s clear that both Microsoft and Xbox are broadening their game libraries across various platforms. This is particularly evident as Microsoft continues to grow as a game development company, and there’s a greater financial potential in developing games for multiple platforms.
