Having played this spine-chilling masterpiece on PC and Nintendo Switch, I was eagerly awaiting its arrival on Xbox, only to be left hanging by a brief postponement. But alas, patience is a virtue, as they say, and it’s been worth the wait!

After a sudden hold-up this month, the long-awaited game titled “The Mortuary Assistant” is now available for Xbox users. Initially, it was planned to debut on Xbox systems at the start of August, coinciding with its PlayStation counterpart’s release.

Beginning in 2022, “The Mortuary Assistant” became a widely appreciated horror video game. It initially debuted on PC systems, later appearing on the Nintendo Switch in 2023. This title drops players into the role of the main character, who balances performing their mortician duties with combating malevolent entities. Originally slated for release on Xbox and PlayStation consoles on August 2, the launch of the Xbox version was postponed unexpectedly, which left some eager fans feeling let down.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that “The Mortuary Assistant,” the chilling story-driven horror game, is now available on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, with its release date moved from August 2 to August 15. Although it took a bit longer for the Xbox port to arrive, it’s worth the wait as it coincided with the PS5 and PS4 versions on their original launch date.

The Mortuary Assistant Is Now Available On All Major Platforms

Following the Xbox launch, the game titled “The Mortuary Assistant” is now accessible on all significant platforms such as PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. The game’s enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting its Xbox and PlayStation debut, with some already speculating about future developments. One fan inquired about a potential release on Game Pass, to which the response was that no such discussions were underway. However, there was a more optimistic response when asked about a possible physical release of “The Mortuary Assistant“, with the developer simply saying “We’ll see!” Additionally, fans can anticipate updates on the upcoming movie adaptation inspired by “The Mortuary Assistant” in the near future.

While all delays are disappointing, the last-minute ones are particularly tough. Fortunately, Xbox users didn’t have to wait too long before The Mortuary Assistant hit the store. On the bright side, as confirmed by the developer, the delay allowed the Xbox port to launch with all the fixes that the PlayStation version has received since rolling out about a couple of weeks ago. With more exciting horror game-related news expected at Gamescom 2024 next week, fans of the genre have a lot to be excited about.
