This update brings a fresh stage, a new relic, unique character skins, five extra Arcanas, and nine captivating achievements for players to unlock. The fresh, complimentary update for “Vampire Survivors” has been released, landing three months subsequent to the debut of its fourth paid expansion, titled “Operation Guns.” This crossover DLC with Konami’s “Contra” series brought in a host of new characters, potent weapons, and novel maps for “Vampire Survivors” enthusiasts to explore. Characters like Bill Rizer, Lance Bean, and the canine-like Brad Fang from “Contra: Hard Corps” were among those introduced with “Operation Guns.” This expansion was merely the second significant component of “Vampire Survivors'” 2024-25 Chaos Roadmap, which has previously encompassed free updates such as the Laborralory.

This free update, available on Steam, takes up over 170MB of space. For those who are up for a challenge, there’s a new stage called “Room 1665” waiting. Unlock it via the Secrets menu by typing “forbiddenbox” in the text field. Unlike other stages, enemies in Room 1665 will grow stronger as you do, making it quite the test of skill! Additionally, five Darkana Arcana cards have been added to the Randomazzo screen. These can be unlocked by finding the Darkasso Relic at the bottom of the Room 1665 stage, and function just like regular Arcana cards. So, let’s dive in and see what we can uncover!
Vampire Survivors Releases Free Darkasso Update
As a passionate fan, I’m thrilled to share that by completing two base game adventures, you can unlock two exclusive skins for Imelda Belpaese and Poe Ratcho in the upcoming Darkasso update for Vampire Survivors! This exciting update is set to drop a few weeks before the game graces PS4 and PS5 consoles on August 29.
The developer has confirmed that some VS-Experiments will be delayed until 2025, while a snapshot of the Darkasso update’s location on the Chaos Roadmap was also shared.
