Imagine opening your G’AIM’E package and being able to play an enhanced version of the classic Time Crisis game, fully set up and ready to go in just five minutes. Getting back into the fun of lightgun gaming is now faster than dealing with all the in-app purchases in many modern games.
You can play G’AIM’E on any modern TV – even really big ones up to 150 inches! Forget straining your eyes on old, small screens. G’AIM’E is a new way to bring back the fun of classic lightgun shooting games, making them accessible and affordable for everyone.
G’AIM’E performs well overall and is, in my opinion, the easiest lightgun system to use currently available. It occasionally misses a shot, but it doesn’t happen often. I’ll cover all the details in my review.
G’AIM’E Review

Tassei Denki has a long history of making video game accessories, so it wasn’t surprising they created a new light gun. The real challenge was making this classic technology appealing to modern gamers. They tackled this by celebrating the 30th anniversary of Time Crisis, one of the most beloved light gun shooters of all time, and making it the central focus of their product and marketing.
Every G’AIM’E package is built around the classic 1995 game, Time Crisis, and features the game’s logo on the console, accessories, and light guns. The standard package includes a special G’AIM’E light gun, a small console pre-loaded with a visually enhanced version of Time Crisis, a power cord, an HDMI cable, and instructions.
The Premium version includes everything mentioned plus three additional games – Point Blank, Steel Gunner, and Steel Gunner 2 – along with a foot pedal and a Time Crisis pin. The Ultimate pack takes it further with everything from the previous versions, a second gun for playing with a friend, a power adapter, and a special Time Crisis display stand.
I got to test the Ultimate edition for this TopMob G’AIM’E review. While the collectibles look great with my other items, you probably want to know if it’s worth the cost—especially if you’re a Point Blank fan thinking about buying these plastic guns, pedals, and piranhas!
We Have A Time Crisis On Our Hands

Okay, so I ripped open the box, got rid of all the packaging, and had the console and guns hooked up in minutes. Seriously, finding Richard Miller was the easy part! The calibration was a breeze – the setup instructions were super clear, honestly better than those big red “DANGER!” warnings in Time Crisis. It was a smooth setup, no headaches at all.
So, I finally got my 65-inch OLED set up exactly as recommended, sitting as far back as they said. After sinking a ton of hours into all four games, I have to say it was mostly awesome, but not quite flawless. I really want to be able to say everything was perfect – that every shot felt exactly where I intended, and there was zero lag. Honestly, most of the time that was the case, and when I messed up, it was usually my fault (and believe me, I’ve got plenty of room for improvement!).
Even though the AI tracker and camera are advanced, there will inevitably be occasional inaccuracies. However, that’s not a significant issue at all. These inaccuracies were brief and I was really impressed with how well the tracker could refocus in various situations. I intentionally tested its limits – pointing the device away, changing my distance, and even having someone walk in front of it. The AI consistently remembered where it was looking, accurately judged distances, and adapted to changes in its surroundings. It’s truly remarkable.
The biggest weakness of using AI to detect enemies, compared to infrared, becomes clear when precise aiming is crucial. For example, it struggles to pick out enemies barely visible behind cover – those shown with just a few pixels – or when you need to make incredibly accurate shots, like hitting a single leaf or apple in a game like Point Blank.
Point Blank’s quick, limited-ammo games really add to the intense excitement!
Okay, so I finally got everything set up just right, and wow, this is a blast! Seriously, shooting things feels amazing. But the real game-changer? This foot pedal! It just adds so much to the whole arcade feel, making it even more immersive. It’s not like the guns are trying to jump out of your hands with realistic recoil; instead, you get this cool vibration with every shot, which is a really smart way to give you feedback. It’s just a fantastic experience overall!
I completely agree with this, and the feeling of each shot still vibrates through your hand and excites your brain. As advertised, G’AIM’E is incredibly easy to use and delivers on all its promises.
A Smart Selection

Okay, so G’AIM’E teamed up with Bandai Namco and they’ve brought back Time Crisis – and it’s awesome! They actually used the original arcade code, so it feels super authentic. Honestly, the game runs so smoothly, it looks amazing – way better than I expected. Remember how revolutionary the peek-and-cover shooting was back in the day? It’s still really fun! You play through three different stages, and the combat is intense and totally replayable. I’ve been hooked!
While G’AIM’E has a lot to offer, the Point Plank addition is what really grabbed my attention. I spent a lot of time playing it as a kid – it was my equivalent of the Time Crisis arcade game! I’ve virtually shot down countless meteors, torches, UFOs, and skeletons, to the point where I get flashbacks when playing carnival shooting games. It’s a fast-paced collection of target-based mini-games featuring the unpredictable pair of Dr. Dan and Dr. Don. It’s incredibly addictive, just as fun as it was back in 1994, and still surprisingly challenging!
Just to reiterate, the games Point Blank and Steel Gunner 1 & 2 are only available for owners of the Premium and Ultimate bundles. While they might not keep you playing for as long as Time Crisis or Point Blank, they do add some nice variety to the collection. This brings up the question of how much replay value you get for your money. Putting aside my personal fondness for these games, let’s look at this realistically. A full run through Time Crisis takes about 20 minutes, and the same goes for Steel Gunner 1 and 2. A quick session of the 16 Point Blank mini-games (or 17 if you include the fireworks ending) takes around 10 to 15 minutes.
The versions of Time Crisis and Point Blank included here aren’t the same as the ones you’d find on home consoles. This means Time Crisis doesn’t have the Special Mode – which many players, myself included, actually prefer because it changes the gameplay based on how well you do. Point Blank is missing some extra features like Party and Story modes, which would have added more to the game and made it more replayable. It seems like licensing problems likely prevented these features from being included. How much you’ll enjoy the G’AIM’E packages will depend on your personal preferences.
The Basic edition costs $99.99 or £99.99, the Premium edition is $149.99 or £149.99, and the Ultimate edition is $199.99 or £199.99. While the $100 price tag for a game that takes around 20 minutes to complete might not appeal to everyone, I recommend the Premium or Ultimate editions. Personally, I’d probably choose Ultimate because it includes an extra weapon and lets you play Point Blank and Steel Gunner with a friend. It’s also been confirmed that these consoles can’t have new games added, so any future game expansions will likely require buying another console.
G’AIM’E Review Verdict
There are other lightgun options and arcade cabinets available, but this setup is the most user-friendly and advanced for its price. It’s simple to set up and immediately delivers a fun, arcade-like experience. I suggest getting the Premium or Ultimate version to get the most features. Games like Time Crisis and Point Blank are classic lightgun titles that offer endless replayability. While purists might question the AI technology, the overall value is excellent and worth considering.
Ultimately, G’AIM’E is exactly what I’ve been hoping for – a fast and easy way to experience classic lightgun games.
