Players of Pokemon GO are reporting they’re getting another free boost to how much they can carry in their item storage, following a similar upgrade last week. This comes after a major update to the game’s leveling system, which raised the maximum level to 80. Reaching these new levels unlocked various rewards, including free items and more space for items like Poke Balls and Berries. Now, it seems some players are receiving even more free storage upgrades.
Fans of Pokemon GO have had a lot to celebrate lately with both real-world events and new features in the game. Niantic recently announced that the Shiny version of the popular Pokemon, Morpeko, will be available later this month. They’ve also made significant improvements to item storage, letting players increase their inventory space by as many as 400 slots through level-up rewards. Now, reports indicate that some players will soon have even more storage available.
Pokemon GO Fans Getting Another Item Storage Upgrade
Some Pokémon GO players in New Zealand have discovered a new free box in the in-game shop that expands their item storage. Claiming the box gives players four item storage upgrades, adding 200 extra slots to their inventory. This storage boost appears to be separate from the storage increases released with recent level-up rewards, and became available around 8 AM local time. Niantic and The Pokémon Company haven’t officially announced this new storage offer yet.
Increasing storage space for items will help Pokémon GO players prepare for special events like Community Days and Raid Days. This weekend, Pokémon GO hosted an event in Nagasaki, Japan, with more Dark and Fairy-type Pokémon appearing. Niantic will bring a similar event to players worldwide through the app next weekend, and it will include the first-ever appearance of Gigantamax Grimmsnarl.
