As someone who’s been playing Pokémon since the days of the Game Boy Color, let me tell you that the evolution of Feebas into Milotic is nothing short of miraculous! I remember catching countless Feebas back in the day, never expecting them to transform into such a majestic creature standing at an impressive 20 feet tall. It’s like finding a diamond in a pile of rocks, or perhaps even better, stumbling upon a unicorn in your backyard!

As a gamer, I’ve always had this mental image of Pokémon being huge when I first see their designs. However, upon checking the Pokedex, I found out that many of them are smaller than they seem. Even the beloved Pokémon anime sometimes exaggerates sizes, so it’s a surprise to learn that a Pokémon like Groudon is merely 11 feet tall.

As a passionate Pokémon enthusiast, I must admit that some of these creatures are downright colossal! I’ve often wondered how they manage without straining their necks when they look around. These gigantic Pokémon tower over two or even three people with ease, and some are so enormous, it makes me marvel at their existence.

35 Naganadel

Poipole Really Levels Up When It Evolves

In the game “Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon”, the diminutive Pokémon Poipole was presented, and it’s safe to say that players wouldn’t have anticipated this tiny creature would transform into the massive Naganadel. In the anime, Ash had a brief stint with a Poipole that eventually evolved and then returned to its home dimension through a portal created by a wormhole.

The size of Naganadel is significant enough to hold large amounts of toxic liquid within its body, as noted in one of its Pokedex entries. With a weight exceeding 300 pounds, it’s hard to fathom the impact if all that poison were released at once.

34 Regigigas

The King Of The Regis Stands Tall

In a surprising twist, these famous giants appear larger than they truly are, with only Registeel and Regidrago towering above the 5-foot mark. Interestingly, Regigigas, their Normal-type commander from the fourth generation games, is an exception to this rule, standing taller than most. However, it’s not Regigigas’ height (slightly over 12 feet) that’s truly awe-inspiring; rather, it’s the impressive weight that sets it apart.

Having spent countless hours battling and collecting Pokemon throughout my years as a dedicated trainer, I can confidently say that Regigigas, standing at a towering 12 feet tall, is one of the most formidable creatures in the series. Weighing an astounding 925 pounds, it’s no wonder these colossal Pokemon are among the heaviest in the franchise. It’s almost impossible to fathom just how heavy those Poke Balls must be when trying to catch one of these titans! The sheer mass and power that Regigigas possesses is truly awe-inspiring, and I can only imagine the challenges that come with capturing such a massive beast.

33 Ho-Oh

It Looks A Lot Bigger From The Ground

Initially, you might assume that Ho-Oh, the initial Legendary Pokémon introduced in the Pokémon anime, would be a bit taller given its status. Interestingly, however, it is noticeably shorter than its counterpart Lugia. Despite standing at over twelve feet tall, Ho-Oh is not the tallest Legendary Pokémon across the entire franchise.

Despite its smaller stature, the magic of this mythical bird lies beyond its dimensions. According to its Pokedex entries, simply catching sight of it brings eternal joy to any trainer. As it continues to create rainbows in its wake, admirers are willing to overlook its diminutive size.

32 Xurkitree

This Ultra Beast Towers Over The Others

For an Ultra Beast that looks oddly like the Team Skull leader Guzma, Xurkitree has a surprisingly impressive height. It stands at equal height to Ho-Oh, though the Electric-type Pokemon shouldn’t be confused with the graceful bird. According to its Pokedex entries, Xurkitree is one of the more dangerous Ultra Beasts.

In Xurkitree’s native universe, strong electrical currents are commonplace, but in the Pokemon world, these currents have the potential to overwhelm an entire power plant. Fortunately, its defensive abilities aren’t particularly robust, making it easier for trainers to battle against it effectively.

31 Sandaconda

It Coils Up To Appear Shorter

It might seem confusing to place Sandaconda on a list of the largest Pokemon, but the Ground-type from Gen 8 is more than meets the eye. Because of how coiled up it is, it can be hard to tell just exactly how long its body stretches for, but the Pokedex claims it extends to over 12 feet tall, passing the heights of some significant Legendary Pokemon.

In its Gigantamax form, this creature towers an impressive 72 feet tall and transforms into a colossal dust storm. According to its Pokedex description, Sandaconda launches sand from its elongated body, much like a shotgun, holding approximately one million tons of sand within its physique. To be frank, that amount appears to be an exaggeration.

30 Dhelmise

It’s Actually Small For An Anchor

Glancing at Dhelmise, most Pokemon enthusiasts might not guess it’s among the largest Pokemon. Contrary to expectations, its considerable size is reminiscent of actual anchors, some weighing up to 20 tons and spanning around 20 feet in length. Interestingly, this means Dhelmise is relatively smaller than real-life anchors. It measures just 12 feet in length and weighs approximately 500 pounds.

In the games Pokemon Sun & Moon, Dhelmise is not merely a stationary object; it’s adorned with seaweed and sports a large ship wheel for a face. Moreover, this Pokemon boasts one of the greatest weights among all Ghost-type characters in the entire series.

29 Dragonair

It Shrinks When It Evolves

It could come as a shock that Dragonair, a Dragon-type Pokémon from the initial generation of games, is almost twice as long as its evolved form, Dragonite. This is just one of several distinctions between Dragonair and its evolutionary stage, which lacks the purple color scheme and the blue orbs on its neck and tail that are characteristic of the original Pokémon.

Despite this, Dragonair holds an exceptional status as the sole Pokemon in its evolutionary series that belongs to the group of largest Pokemon, primarily thanks to its remarkable long, serpent-like form.

28 Lunala

It’s Not The Moon, But It’s Still Huge

In the world of Pokémon, Lunala is the iconic figure associated with Pokémon Moon, and its counterpart in this series is Solgaleo from Pokémon Sun. What makes Lunala and Solgaleo stand out among other Legendaries is that they are transformed forms. They undergo this transformation from Cosmoem, a Psychic-type Pokémon, which in turn evolves from Cosmog.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but notice that Lunala, despite its bat-like origin, draws most of its design elements from the celestial beauty of the moon. This lunar inspiration becomes particularly striking when Lunala soars through the skies with its grand size on full display.

27 Palkia

The Smallest Of Its Trio But Perhaps The Strongest

Among the trio of legendary Pokemon known as the Creation Trio, it may come as a surprise that Palkia is actually the smallest. Despite not always being as well-liked or remembered as its counterparts, Palkia is by no means diminutive. In fact, Palkia stands at approximately 14 feet tall, which makes it equal in height to Dawn Wings Necrozma.

As a gamer, I can attest that Palkia packs an incredible punch and towers above many other Pokémon. In fact, its Origin Forme, introduced in Pokémon Legends Arceus, shoots up to over 20 feet tall, making it one of the tallest on the list, if not the tallest.

26 Cetitan

It’s Quite Cute For Its Size

In the video game Scarlet and Violet, Cetitan is an advanced version of Cetoddle, and they are among the rare Ice-type Pokemon you can catch. Cetitan often resides in similar habitats as Avalugg but showcases significantly more physical strength than this other Ice-type. Interestingly, only Cetoddle and Cetitan have the ability to learn Ice Spinner through leveling up.

The design of Cetitan and Cetoddle resembles a beluga whale or narwhal, yet they prefer to stay on land. In the game Scarlet and Violet, you can catch Cetitans around Glaseado Mountain in the Northern region of Paldea, and also during Tera Raid battles. Meanwhile, their pre-evolved form, Cetoddle, can be found in Area Three of the Western Province.

25 Dudunsparce

Dunsparce’s “Long”-Awaited Evolution

Finally, after a long wait, the Generation 2 Normal-type Pokemon Dunsparce has been given an evolution. Interestingly, for hardcore Dunsparce enthusiasts, its evolution Dudunsparce, comes with additional middle segments (either two or three, depending on a 1/1000 chance during the evolution process). Remarkably, Dudunsparce is one of the longest Pokemon in the series.

As a gamer, I’ve come to appreciate the unique charm of Dudunsparce, even though its maximum length of 14 feet is limited to its three-segment form. But let me tell you, its two-segment version is no small fry either, reaching an impressive 11 feet! This elusive creature can only be spotted in Area Zero in the wild, or through an interesting process – evolving Dunsparce after it levels up, provided it already knows Hyper Drill.

24 Primal Groudon

Omega Ruby Beefed Up Its Mascot

Standing at an impressive 11 feet tall in its standard form, Groudon is quite a sizeable Pokemon. However, when transformed into its Primal form, Groudon towers to a colossal 16 feet, placing it among the top twenty largest Pokemon in the series. To give you an idea, that’s significantly taller than a double-decker bus, but still falls short compared to its Primal counterpart, Kyogre, which stands twice as tall.

In collaboration with Kyogre and Rayquaza, Groudon represents the mascot for the third installment of the Pokémon games. It’s one of the ancient Pokémon in the series, known for its super-ancient origins. Legend has it that this Pokémon can lower sea levels, causing continents to expand, which is why Team Magma diligently searches for it in Pokémon Ruby, Emerald, and Omega Ruby.

23 Zygarde 50%

Even At 50%, Zygarde Is Massive

It’s quite intriguing that the incomplete version of Zygarde stands about two feet taller than its Complete Forme. Typically, serpentine Pokémon are larger than their bipedal or quadrupedal counterparts, so this size difference isn’t entirely surprising, but it’s still amusing to note.

Even though Zygarde didn’t receive the honor of becoming a box legendary, it remains an incredibly potent Pokemon. It has made significant appearances in the anime and took part in a side quest within the games “Sun and Moon,” where collecting Zygarde cells was crucial. Additionally, in Dynamax Adventures, Zygarde serves as the super boss, having two distinct phases during battle.

22 Lugia

Lugia Is The Size Of A Private Plane

In the games Pokemon Silver and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, Lugia – known as the box-type legendary – is renowned for its iconic and recognizable status. It serves as a guardian of the seas, which necessitates a robust physique suited to exploring ocean depths. Despite being categorized as a bird, it possesses snake-like characteristics that add to its elongated structure.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but marvel at Lugia’s towering stature, which stands precisely at 17 feet, making it an impressive four feet taller than the radiant Ho-Oh. Its wingspan is vast, granting it the ability to unleash its iconic Aeroblast move with grace and power. Remarkably, for a creature associated with the profound ocean depths, Lugia belongs to the Psychic type.

21 Raging Bolt

Raikou’s New Form Touches The Clouds

In the game Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, there’s a fresh development – the introduction of Paradox Pokemon. These unique creatures offer both previous and future versions of familiar ones. For instance, Raging Bolt, introduced in the DLC expansion The Indigo Disk, is a reimagined version of the Legendary Pokemon Raikou. This version sports a long neck reminiscent of a giraffe and a mustache shaped like clouds.

With its latest redesign, Raikou now towers over other Pokemon in the game, reaching an impressive height of 17 feet. Additionally, it boasts a unique Electric/Dragon typing, setting it apart from most other Pokemon. This is quite a departure from the usual six-foot tall Raikou that we’re used to seeing.

20 Dialga

Its Control Over Time Isn’t The Only Thing That’s Big

Among the most colossal Pokemon in the franchise’s timeline, Dialga, the third entity of the Creation Trio, is included. Unlike Palkia, Dialga stands with an upright posture and sports a magnificent silver spike crown on its head, reflecting its noble status. As the ruler of time, it undeniably embodies both a fearsome and majestic appearance.

Dialga stands approximately 17 feet and 9 inches high, barely an inch shy of being 18 feet tall. This giant figure towers over Palkia and Altered Forme Giratina, but falls short when compared to the Origin Formes of the Creation Trio. The allure of Dialga is evident in many who were attracted to Pokemon Diamond, as its cosmic dominance plays a role in that attraction.

19 Guzzlord

It Takes A Huge Pokemon To Swallow Buildings

Most people can get a sense of what Guzzlord is all about just from its apt name. Guzzlord is an Ultra Beast given the code name “UB-05 Glutton” for good reason. This beast has devoured mountains and buildings whole while never having left any traceable droppings. Logically, one needs to be tall in order to swallow buildings, and 18 feet is a pretty good start.

Despite being relatively scarce and potentially harmful on our planet, the Pokédex entry for Pokemon Ultra Sun describes it as a “Frequent inhabitant of the world it typically calls home.”

18 Stakataka

Is It A Pokemon, Or Is It A Fortress?

Stakataka can only be found in the games Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, following a more extensive exploration of Ultra Space. The description for Stakataka in Pokemon Ultra Sun mentions that it originated from an Ultra Wormhole and seems to be composed of various life-forms piled on top of each other.

Because Stakataka is essentially a living structure, it boasts an impressive Defense stat of 211, while its Speed stat is quite poor at 13. Given that buildings typically don’t move around, especially not quickly, its sluggish Speed stat seems entirely plausible.

17 Yveltal

Yveltal’s Destruction Comes Easy At This Size

Presenting Yveltal, the emblematic Pokemon from Pokemon Y, often referred to as the Destructive Pokemon. As part of the Aura Trio, it stands alongside Xerneas and Zygarde. Reaching an impressive height of 19 feet, Yveltal harnesses the life energy of other beings when its wings and feathers are unfurled and emit a radiant red glow, absorbing their vitality.

In the game Pokemon Y, the Pokedex indicates that when Yveltal reaches its final moments, it takes in the vitality of all living entities and transforms into a cocoon again. Regrettably, Yveltal is not obtainable in games like Sword, Shield, Scarlet, or Violet. However, you can trade for this Pokemon in the former titles, specifically X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire.

16 Milotic

Who Knew Feebas Had It In Them?

20 feet tall stands the breathtaking Milotic, a divine being that originates from the simple creature Feebas. Despite its humble beginnings, this Pokemon grows taller than the legendary Pokemon of Destruction. Although it is a big, serpentine Pokemon, it is renowned for its gentleness, seeking to soothe people’s emotions.

Although not a legend, Milotic boasts an impressive move set and can stand its ground in battles. However, the challenge lies in providing enough Pokeblocks or Poffins to make Feebas evolve. Some consider Milotic as a semi-counterpart to Gyarados, another water-type Pokemon with a serpentine form that outshines most of its rivals. Milotic reappeared in “The Teal Mask“, the initial DLC expansion for “Pokemon Scarlet and Violet“.
