Hogwarts Legacy 2 Desperately Needs To Turn Over a New Leaf With One Feature

Highlights

  • Hogwarts Legacy 2 will need to expand its world and improve collectible hunting to satisfy completionist players.
  • Adding item maps could make it easier for players to find important items like Demiguise Statues for spells.
  • An in-game shop feature for specialized maps could enhance the collectible-hunting experience in Hogwarts Legacy 2.

As a seasoned gamer who has spent countless hours traversing the magical halls of Hogwarts and beyond, I can’t help but feel the thrill and anticipation building for the release of Hogwarts Legacy 2. However, being a completionist at heart, I can’t ignore the challenges that came with the original game’s collectible hunting mechanics.

In order for Avalanche Software to create a rich and expansive world for Hogwarts Legacy 2, they’ll have to put in a significant amount of effort. Expanding on the exploration found in the initial release is part of this investment. This dedication has led to an impressive variety and abundance of collectibles within the game set for release in 2023. Completing Hogwarts Legacy can take players around 70 hours, with many players finishing the campaign before they manage to gather every last item or trophy.

Speaking of improvements, there’s a key aspect where we’d love to see Hogwarts Legacy 2 evolve: enhancing the collectible hunting experience. It doesn’t imply reducing the quantity or variety of items to hunt, but rather incorporating user-friendly features that streamline the process for those who wish to engage with it. Avalanche could achieve this by integrating an item map system similar to how Explorer maps function in Minecraft. This way, players can more easily locate and collect the numerous magical artifacts that make Hogwarts Legacy so captivating.

Why Hogwarts Legacy 2 Needs to Sell Item Maps in Shops

As an ardent admirer, I’m confidently speculating that Hogwarts Legacy 2 will expand and refine its predecessor, particularly in the realm of exploration, if not quests. While I hope Avalanche expands the game world with new locations and treasures to uncover, providing optional maps for sale that reveal the whereabouts of specific collectibles and valuable items would be a tremendous help, given the challenge of obtaining the platinum trophy in Hogwarts Legacy.

In other words, Avalanche doesn’t intentionally make things unclear. For instance, gamers can zoom into specific areas of the map and view the total count of Collection Chests, Field Guide Pages, Merlin Trials, and so forth, along with how many are yet to be discovered. However, the game does not provide information on where these items are located. Although markers for certain locations like Beast Dens and Merlin Trials appear on the map after exploring specific areas in Hogwarts Legacy, there are other aspects that remain a mystery to players.

In Hogwarts Legacy, the Demiguise Statues hold significant value as they enable players to master the Alohomora spell up to level 3. This enchantment grants access to numerous locked locations within and around Hogwarts, also helping in gathering collectibles. However, locating these elusive Demiguise Statues can be quite challenging due to their hidden nature in the game. Moreover, they are inconspicuous during daytime as they don’t emit any glow, which might cause some players to miss them unintentionally.

Beyond what I’ve already found in Hogwarts Legacy, there are hidden treasures like Collection Chests, Field Guide Pages, and more that you can uncover if you cast the Revelio spell nearby. However, even with upgrades to expand its range, the spell doesn’t reveal everything completely. You can reduce the hassle by flying around on a broom in Hogwarts Legacy’s highlands, but you’ll still need to keep casting the spell repeatedly. That’s why it would be beneficial if Avalanche offers maps for purchase, making it easier for players to find these hidden collectibles.

How Hogwarts Legacy 2 Can Make Collectible-Hunting Easier

In the hypothetical sequel to “Hogwarts Legacy,” players might find it simpler to fully master the game by purchasing unique map packs from in-game stores, much like how players can trade with the Wandering Trader in “Minecraft.” To keep things fair, the developers could price these maps high enough that players must carefully consider the costs. Additionally, a few extremely specialized maps could be made available through hidden shops or at specific times, requiring fans to solve puzzles to obtain them.

In a similar vein, these achievements might be earned by successfully completing specific tasks or missions. This method could also align with the presumed abandoned Morality system in Hogwarts Legacy, where player decisions could influence the speed at which certain items are acquired, or even prevent their acquisition altogether.

By implementing item guides like this, Avalanche Studios can simplify the treasure-hunting experience for enthusiasts in Hogwarts Legacy 2. Furthermore, if there are hidden maps that expose concealed locations such as Salazar Slytherin’s Chamber of Secrets, it could motivate players to strive for a complete 100% accomplishment within the game.
