The camp, nestled amidst the chaos of the Woods, is a beacon for those seeking loot, but also a graveyard for those who underestimate its perils.
A key characteristic of Escape From Tarkov is its expansive and detailed maps, filled with numerous spots teeming with various types of loot. Certain areas frequently include scattered loot drops and containers with distinct loot collections.
In the intense world of Escape From Tarkov, an early-wipe scenario presents a twist: instead of dashing for lucrative loot, I prioritize tasks and hideout items. That means my scavenging excursions frequently take me to unexpected spots, where the elusive task or hideout items might be lurking. If I want to make efficient progress in my tasks and gain an edge early on in a wipe, it’s crucial for me to know which locations are likely to yield these precious items.
7 Scav Town
Woods

Among the initial maps players usually explore at the start of each wipe, Woods stands out due to its abundance of early tasks. Its expansive size allows for easy evasion of other players and straightforward extraction. This feature makes Woods an excellent choice for discovering any significant tasks or hideout items, as players have a higher probability of escaping safely.
Among the top spots where you might find food in the Woods region is the Scavenger Town. This settlement consists of several houses, some of which may be protected by a few scavengers (a plus if they can help with tasks). Each house typically contains various scattered loot items, many of them technical. Additionally, there are usually a couple of duffle bags hidden around as well. However, the most significant house is commonly referred to as the Food House. Situated on the left side nearest to the extraction point (an advantage of Scavenger Town), this house offers an abundant supply of food spawns, which can be beneficial for players in their quest to gather items required for the task ‘Acquaintance’.
6 Crackhouse

In a wipe, it’s likely that the second map players will encounter is called Customs. This map offers several initial missions where players gather items and traverse various regions of the map. Customs can be relatively risky due to its three-lane setup which encourages player versus player conflicts. It’s crucial for players to be aware of the optimal spots to collect their items during their missions, ensuring they can efficiently move forward through the map.
The best medical loot spawns on Customs are located within the crackhouse. This building contains a couple of assorted containers, as well as a stack of filing cabinets, but most notably, crackhouse houses multiple loose medical spawns. Players can find the Salewa’s needed for ‘Shortage’ as well as CMS kits for personal use until they unlock the flea market. Not to mention the potential for any other medical spawn in either of the two medical rooms. Players also have the chance to find intelligence folders in the library.
5 White And Black Knight

These structures are quite close to each other and boast a combination of filing cabinets and technical spawns. The filing cabinets in particular are significant because they can yield gas analyzers for the mission ‘Ensuring Sanitary Standards’, flash drives for ‘Mystery on the Flash Drive’, as well as various hideout items. This site is particularly beneficial, especially for players who choose to embark on the raid without a backpack, as they can escape via the proximate Sewer Manhole extraction point.
4 Scav Farm

Fortunately, the spot we’re discussing, known as Scav Farm, offers a wealth of valuable items and boasts numerous Scav appearances. This location stands out as a prime choice for early-wipe income generation, with a variety of scattered loot, technical crates, tech spawns, medical crates, food crates, and jackets. The main advantage of this site isn’t merely the abundance of loot it produces, but its proximity to a vehicle extract, which facilitates easy escapes and boosts Scav reputation points.
3 USEC Camp

In my gaming world, Woods is a map where I often find myself embarking on numerous early-wipe missions. One of these tasks on Woods, known as ‘Search Mission’, involves scouting for a convoy and a USEC camp. This makes this location potentially dangerous, either due to potential combat encounters or the minefield surrounding the camp exterior. But if I dare to loot the camp, my bravery could very well pay off with valuable rewards.
The USEC camp contains multiple weapon crate spawns, as well as loose attachment spawns. These are likely to sell for a decent amount, be useful for a personal weapon build, or aid players in their completion of the ‘Gunsmith’ tasks. The camp also contains a couple of food and technical crates, as well as loose food spawns. These can help players with ‘Acquaintance’ or with hideout progression. Players can also find loose valuable spawns by the sleeping bags. These include gold chains, horse statues, cat statues, lion statues, vases, and teapots. The most lucrative spot at the USEC camp is the medical tent, which not only contains medical items needed for early tasks but could also spawn ophthalmoscopes and LedX’s.

One of the most useful spots in Interchange is at the back of one of the three large stores, Goshan. Here, players will find multiple shelves and freezers, all of which can and will spawn an assortment of food items. This is likely the best location for players to find food spawns, and players can be sure to complete ‘Acquaintance’ in just a few trips to these shelves. Players can then leave through the back of Goshan to make their way to the nearest extract and avoid going through the mall.
1 Forward Operating Base (FoB)

Although Woods usually offers a peaceful environment with numerous opportunities to steer clear of player versus player (PvP) interactions, certain spots do attract gamers. During the entire wipe, players frequently head towards the sawmill to monitor keycard drops and possibly engage in combat with the map boss, Shturman. However, during the early stages of the wipe, players tend to focus on the FoB in an attempt to advance their tasks. Consequently, the FoB becomes another spot that offers potential rewards but also carries a certain level of risk.
Players focus on the FoB due to the high chance of finding items required for two early tasks. These are the food items for ‘Acquaintance’ and medical items for ‘Shortage’. The FoB contains a series of food and medical crates, as well as a medical tent that has loose medical spawns. On the other side of the FoB is a medical shelf and two further medical cargo containers, all of which can spawn loose medical items. There is also the chance for technical crates to spawn, allowing players the chance to obtain hideout items. In the upper level of the FoB, there are weapon crates that can spawn weapons or attachments.
