Best Skills, Weapons, and Armor for Barbarians in Enshrouded

Enshrouded lets you create characters using familiar RPG roles โ€“ like fighters, rogues, and wizards โ€“ and you can succeed with almost any combination of skills and items. However, focusing on a specific playstyle will help you get the most out of the game.

If you enjoy close-combat fighting with powerful, high-damage weapons, the Redfighter Barbarian is an excellent choice in Enshrouded. This build focuses on stunning enemies and increasing your damage output.

Enshrouded: Two-Handed Barbarian Build

The Barbarian skill tree focuses on defeating enemies with powerful attacks and then quickly chaining those victories together to maximize your damage. This specialization is ideal for using heavy, two-handed weapons, allowing you to easily break an enemy’s defenses and deliver fast, sweeping melee attacks. While you can mix skills from other trees, this build will primarily use Barbarian skills, along with a few essential ones from the Survivor tree.

What Skills Do You Get Next?

Once you’ve learned the skills we mentioned, feel free to explore skills from other specializations. We especially suggest picking up a few skills from the Tank path to help you stay alive longer. With the Barbarian skills, weapon improvements, and other boosts, you’ll already be able to deal plenty of damage. Here are a few skills we recommend:

  • Upwards Slash Attack (Barbarian): This one is good for reaching flying enemies. If you don’t want to rely on a ranged weapon to fight flyers, then take the fight to them using this skill.
  • Inner Fires/Relentless Flame (Survivor): If you don’t want to worry about dying to the Shroud, these two skills will greatly extend your Shroud timer. They’re particularly useful if you’re wearing the Guard of the North armor.
  • Dessert Stomach (Survivor): Having an extra food slot is a lot more powerful than one might think. This does mean that you’ll be eating more food than usual, but it’s going to be more than worth it in the long run, especially once you get a sustainable food source at your base.
  • Updraft (Assassin): This skill lets you gain extra altitude while gliding, making traversal a lot more convenient.
  • Battle Heal (Tank): This skill lets you heal 5% of your max health every time your melee attacks critically strike. It’s much more convenient than Blood Warrior, but you’ll need a weapon with a high critical hit chance to make the most use of this.

Best Weapons and Armor for Barbarians in Enshrouded

We suggest getting the Rising Fighter set as soon as it becomes available at the Blacksmith. It provides helpful boosts to critical hit chance, melee damage, health, and health regeneration, making it easier to survive the beginning parts of the game.

When you’re ready to upgrade your gear in Enshrouded, look for the Guard of the North set. You can find the pieces throughout the Pikemead’s Reach region. It’s an improved version of the Rising Fighter set, offering better stats overall. However, be aware that wearing it will limit how long you can safely stay in areas covered by the Shroud.

So, I’ve been rocking the Guard of the North armor, and it’s okay, but if the Shroud timer stuff isn’t your thing, you can always hit up the Blacksmith for something different. Honestly though, my goal is to get the Radiant Paladin armor. It’s legendary, and I’ve heard you can find it way over in the Sun Temple, which is pretty far southeast on the map. It’s gonna be a trek, but totally worth it, I think!

When it comes to weapons, focus on using two-handed melee weapons. They hit harder and are generally better at stunning enemies. We suggest choosing either hammers or axes to specialize in one type of damage โ€“ blunt or cutting. After youโ€™ve decided, look for skills in the Warrior skill line that increase the effectiveness of your chosen damage type.

Consider bringing a ranged weapon for extra versatility. A bow with special arrows is a good choice, but a staff that casts a spell continuously can also be very effective if you have enough magical energy.
