Where To Find The Rain Man Deviant In Once Human

As a seasoned survivor in this post-apocalyptic world of Once Human, I can attest to the value of a helpful companion like the Rain Man Deviant. After countless hours spent fending off Pyro Dinos and scavenging for resources, having a little helper tending to my garden is a breath of fresh air… or should I say, water?

Tending a small-scale farm is an excellent method to procure essential food and drink items at Once Human. Although managing your own vegetable patch may be somewhat expensive or complex, having a “Rain Man” on your premises should simplify the process.

A Rain Man is a helpful sort of Non-combative NPC (Non-Player Character) found within the player’s home environment. Unlike other aggressive NPCs such as Pyro Dino from Once Human, it doesn’t engage in combat, but it proves to be a beneficial asset for any base due to its ability to care for plants. Here is a method to locate one of these helpful NPCs.

How To Get The Rain Man Deviant In Once Human

In the initial season, the character known as Rain Man Deviant is exclusively available through a chance loot drop from the formidable opponent called the Rainfall Reaper Elite. These elusive enemies are identifiable by their umbrella-adorned heads. You can encounter these Rainfall Reapers in the following locations:

  • Harborside (Broken Delta): At the docks, near the beached ship containing the area’s Mystical Crate
  • Sutherland Chemical Plant (Broken Delta): On a series of catwalks near the blue building at the center of the plant
  • Greywater Industrial Zone (Iron River): Head to the upper level of the facility and look for the area with pipes and vats
  • Unmarked Settlement (Chalk Peak): South of Evergreen Vineyard. Follow the road leading southwest and drive past the Vulture-occupied town. There is a settlement there that’s infested with deviants.
  • Securement Silo Phi (Iron River): In the Seepage Zone.

In the game “Once Human,” The Rain Man and the Artisan’s Hand Deviant share a common trait: they must be obtained by plundering them from an adversary. However, it’s worth noting that the probability of obtaining The Rain Man seems quite rare, or in other words, its drop rate appears to be very low. There’s also a possibility that the Rainfall Reapers won’t yield anything at all, which means your quest for a Rain Man might take some time before you successfully loot one.

Farming the Rainfall Reapers in Harborside and Sutherland Chemical Plant is likely the best option players have. The two areas are relatively close to each other, and there’s a Teleportation Tower between them as well. However, driving between these POIs will take a toll on your fuel reserves. If you can, place your house near one of them so you have a free fast travel point. Alternatively, you can always rush the Seepage Zone in Silo Phi.

Elite enemies in the open world respawn after 15 minutes.

What Does The Rain Man Do?

In the fictional universe of Once Human, Rain Men function as one type of Territory Deviants, essentially performing the task of watering plants in your garden. They serve a purpose similar to that of automatic sprinkler systems, but with their own set of advantages and disadvantages.

Rain Men don’t require water or energy to water plants; they just need sufficient power to function. However, it’s important to note that one Rain Man can only tend to a single crop at once. For larger vegetable gardens in a base, an automated irrigation system would be more effective in maintaining the health of the plants.

Of course, Rain Men thrive alongside fellow agricultural anomalies in the band Once Human, such as the Buzzy Bee and Growshroom. They are particularly beneficial when aiming to maintain a steady flow of brew for combating reductions in sanity.
