As a seasoned Pokémon Go player who’s been on this journey since its inception, I must say that the September 2024 Community Day announcement has got me all fired up! The fact that Ponyta, both the Kanto and Galarian variants, are set to take center stage next month is nothing short of electrifying.
In mid-September 2024, the Pokémon GO Community Day event will be highlighting Ponyta, as hinted at by a recent teaser from Niantic. This exciting Pokémon GO occasion is set to begin next month.
In their latest update, Niantic has disclosed that the upcoming Pokemon GO Community Day in August 2024 will be dedicated to Popplio. However, enthusiasts are yet to experience this event, set for August 31.
Pokemon GO September 2024 Community Day to Feature Ponyta and its Galarian Variant
As a devoted fan, I can’t contain my excitement as the developer has now begun hinting at who will star in the next promotional event! On August 20, the studio posted a sneak peek on Twitter, featuring quick glimpses of Ponyta and Galarian Ponyta galloping across a lush meadow. To leave no room for ambiguity, the video concludes with a large CD banner, and Niantic even added the #PokemonGOCommunityDay hashtag to their tweet. This definitely sets the stage for an unforgettable Community Day in Pokémon GO!
Niantic has officially announced that the upcoming Pokemon GO Community Day will take place on September 14, which is a Saturday. While they didn’t provide additional details, their past events suggest that it will likely occur between 2pm and 5pm in your local timezone. As Ponyta has regional variations, the event’s Pokemon appearances might be more diverse than typical. The increased encounter rates during this Community Day should lead to both Galarian Ponyta and the Kanto version appearing more frequently, and since both can be shiny, it’s a great chance to catch them!
During this event, transforming any Ponyta variant will most probably result in a Rapidash learning a unique Charged Attack. However, we don’t know what that specific attack will be yet. This bonus usually carries over to evolutions made up to five hours following the conclusion of each Community Day. The upcoming event is rumored to offer special time-limited bonuses such as extended Lure and Incense durations (3 hours) and increased Candy and Candy XL rewards for capturing Pokémon. Additionally, there’s a strong possibility that a bonus Special Trade can be made on September 14th. Historically, CD trades have required only half the usual Stardust costs.
As a passionate Pokémon GO fan, I’m thrilled to share that the Ponyta Community Day will mark the beginning of the new season, set to commence in early September. Niantic has announced two additional Community Days for this season, scheduled for October 5 and November 10. Additionally, they’ve given us a sneak peek into the upcoming introduction of Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing features within Pokémon GO.
