Embark Studios Just Nerfed ARC Raiders’ Most OP Perk

ARC Raiders received a big update today! Embark Studios launched version 1.2.0, which includes a new community event, a brand new map to explore, and some challenging new ARC enemies. The update also brings various improvements, fixes, and adjustments – including a significant nerf to the Security Breach perk.

Some ARC Raiders players have noticed a change to a powerful perk. The ‘Security Breach’ perk has been made less effective, so players who were relying on it may want to try different strategies.

Security Breach Nerf Explained

In a post on the ARC Raiders Discord server, the game’s community lead, Ossen, wrote:

We adjusted the security lockers because they were over-providing valuable items

The comment received a lot of reactions using emojis, and the most common one was the clown emoji. What people meant by using that emoji is open to interpretation.

This change is a positive step for Embark Studios and most players. It addresses a problem where some players were exploiting a powerful perk to quickly gather an excessive amount of high-quality gear. This tactic was also making the game less enjoyable, as the most effective strategy became repeatedly running nighttime missions on maps like Buried City to maximize loot collection.

Along with other improvements, we’ve fixed the desync issue, so taking cover should now feel responsive. Battles against ARC enemies will also be much smoother and more accurate, eliminating the previous lag and disconnect.

The latest update, version 1.2.0, is now available for ARC Raiders on all devices. To unlock the new map, players will need to cooperate and contribute resources to power the project.
