How to Get and Evolve Goomy in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

While discovering Lumiose City in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you’ll find lots of strong Pokémon. They’ll be in various places – some in open Wild Zones, others down in the sewers, and even hiding on the city’s rooftops.

Some Pokémon only appear when the weather is a certain way. For example, the strong dragon-type Pokémon Goomy only shows up during bad weather.

Okay, so you want Goomy on your team and eventually evolved? It takes a bit of effort, but here’s how I figured out how to get and evolve Goomy in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

How to Find Goomy in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Goomy is a bit hard to find in Pokémon – you can’t get it right away. You’ll need to progress to Main Mission 19 and unlock access to the Lumiose City sewers before you can find one.

Okay, so once I got to this part of the game, I could finally get into the sewers through the fountain near the Pokémon Center. The cool thing is, even after finishing that mission, I could still find Goomy – I just didn’t have to go down into the sewers anymore to do it!

You can still find Goomy near the fountain close to the Bleu Pokémon Center. But there’s a catch: it only shows up when it’s raining. If you want to catch one, you’ll need to make it rain in Lumiose City.

Fortunately, there’s a bench nearby that lets you adjust the in-game time, and with a little luck, you can trigger rain.

If you’re looking for an Alpha Goomy, it’s a little easier to find than other Alpha Pokémon. While they appear in several spots around Lumiose City, Vert Sector 9 is the best place to search.

You can find Vert Sector 9 close to the Stone Emporium, a shop where you can buy Mega Stones and Evolution Stones. Alpha Goomy, like its smaller form, only appears when it’s raining. If it’s not raining, use the nearby bench to change the time of day until it does.

How to Evolve Goomy into Sliggoo and Goodra

I’m so excited about Goomy! It’s awesome that it can evolve – first into Sliggoo, and then into the super cool Goodra. It’s not just automatic though, you have to do certain things to help it evolve, which makes it even more fun!

To evolve Goomy into Sliggoo, just train it until it reaches level 40. This shouldn’t be too difficult, since Goomy found in the city usually appear around level 38, meaning you only need to level it up a couple of times.

To evolve Sliggoo into Goodra, you need to reach level 50 with it. Then, make sure it’s raining in Lumiose City, because Sliggoo can only evolve when it’s raining.

After making it rain in the city, look for an evolution icon next to your Sliggoo if it’s level 50 or higher. Choosing to evolve it will turn it into a Goodra.
