Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Has Been Beaten By Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc
I’ve been watching anime movies really come into their own this year, 2025. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has been a huge hit, shattering box office records. But it’s not alone – there have been a lot of other incredibly popular anime films that fans in Japan and around the world have been enjoying.
Another major anime film this year was Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc. It premiered in Japan on September 19th and became available in the USA on October 24th. Despite only being released in the US for a short time, the film is already proving to be very popular, as shown by impressive viewership numbers.
The Chainsaw Man: Reze arc anime movie has quickly become a huge success in the US, already ranking among the top 5 highest-grossing anime films less than a month after its release. This success means Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has been displaced from the top 5, ending its four-year run in the rankings.
Jujutsu Kaisen fans are likely disappointed to see Chainsaw Man outperform it at the box office, especially since Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 also surpassed it earlier this year. It’s a tough comparison, as both other films have broken records.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s Next Movie Could Reclaim Its Top Spot
The movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has been the most successful film in the Jujutsu Kaisen series to date, and it’s unique as the only completely original movie the series has produced. Although the series faced some setbacks, fans are confident it can continue to improve. Every Jujutsu Kaisen movie released since has been a rehash of previous material, including the newest one, Jujutsu Kaisen Executioner.
The series hasn’t yet delivered a truly new movie experience, but the next installment has the potential to be groundbreaking. If the current season of Jujutsu Kaisen concludes with Gojo being released from his seal, it could pave the way for a massive film – a showdown between Gojo and Sukuna. Such an epic battle would almost certainly be a huge success at the box office and could easily restore Jujutsu Kaisen to the top 5 most popular anime.
