
The Zombies mode in Black Ops 7 launches with a massive map called Ashes of the Damned, where you’ll drive around to different areas using a vehicle nicknamed Ol’ Tessie and a tool called T.E.D.D. This map features six distinct locations, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Because the map is so large, it’s helpful to know the best and safest places to attract and eliminate zombies. We’ve ranked each location in Black Ops 7 Zombies based on the equipment available there and how well it supports zombie training.
Zarya Cosmodrome
Tight Walkways and Mantle Spots Make This Area Unfriendly
- Location: Southeast from Ashwood
- Noteable POIs: PhD Flopper, Wisp Tea
Zarya Cosmodrome isn’t a good place to farm zombies, which is surprising given it’s based on a map known for training. Unlike the original, Zarya Cosmodrome lacks open areas and mostly consists of a narrow, winding path. Farming here is risky because zombies can attack from all directions, including through doorways. Uneven platforms also make it hard to land critical hits. Unless you’re specifically trying to get the PhD Flopper or Wisp Tea perks, it’s best to avoid Zarya Cosmodrome.
Ashwood
A Cowboy Town to Upgrade Ol’ Tessie, and Not Much Else
- Location: East of Vandorn Farm or West of Blackwater Lake
- Noteable POIs: Ol’ Tessie Upgrade Station, Jugger-Nog, Double Tap, Vulture Aid
Okay, so Ashwood is basically the main hangout spot in Ashes of the Damned. It’s where I go to upgrade Ol’ Tessie – I can Pack-a-Punch her and get all the stuff she needs. Plus, if I mess up and she goes down, I can always bring her back or teleport right to her from the garage. And the best part? It’s where you unlock three essential Perks: Jugger-Nog to boost my health, Double Tap for faster shooting, and Vulture Aid to snag more goodies. Honestly, the map’s layout can be a pain – it’s super vertical, making it tricky to get around. I mostly use Ashwood as a launching pad to get to other areas, since there are big gates leading directly to every landmark. If I do want to grind out some zombie kills, I stick to the area outside Ol’ Tessie’s garage – it’s the only place with enough room to really move. Trying to train zombies in the upper town is just too cramped, and jumping down from up there will almost kill you!
Janus Towers Plaza
The Spawn Area Holds Little Value in Terms of Machines, But Provides Plenty of Room

- Noteable POIs: Der Wunderfizz, Quick Revive, Rampage Inducer
Janus Towers Plaza is where players begin their adventure in Ashes of the Damned, and it has a few key features. Just behind the starting point, you’ll find T.E.D.D., which can activate Ol’ Tessie, and a Quick Revive – both very helpful. It’s a good place to practice, with three wide lanes offering plenty of room to maneuver around zombies and few obstructions. However, the uneven ground makes it tricky to aim for headshots, and venturing too close to the exits can attract unwanted attention. While it lacks a Crafting Bench, The Arsenal Machine, and Armor Wall-Buys, Janus Towers Plaza is still a decent starting point. You can find the Rampage Inducer here for faster-paced rounds, and Der Wunderfizz becomes available at the north wall from Round 20.
Exit 115
A Diner With Decent Space and Mantling
- Location: Southwest of Ashwood
- Noteable POIs: Deadshot Daiquiri, Elemental Pop
Exit 115 is a quiet, out-of-the-way spot that’s great for players who prefer to keep moving. While it’s not huge, there’s enough space to maneuver, especially for those who like to use train-running tactics for quick kills. If you need to escape, plenty of vehicles offer easy access to the rooftops. It’s also a good, relatively safe place to practice fighting zombies. However, beyond that, there isn’t much to explore. Overall, we like Exit 115 because it offers a mix of ground and rooftop combat options, making it adaptable to different challenges.
Blackwater Lake
Decently Flat Ground and Lengthy Lanes Make a Snowy Paradise
- Location: West of Janus Towers Plaza
- Noteable POIs: Melee Macchiato, Speed Cola
Blackwater Lake is a great map for training zombies and getting to the high rounds. It has long, fairly wide lanes that let you funnel zombies into a single line, making them easy targets. While the inside of the cabin isn’t very useful except for getting perks like Speed Cola or using The Arsenal, the lanes provide the main defense. A Jump Pad lets you quickly return to spawn for perks or travel to Ashwood to get Ol’ Tessie. These long lanes are especially helpful for gathering large groups of zombies and escaping Zursa, the zombie bear, because you can move freely without being blocked by obstacles.
Vandorn Farm
Wide Farm Land for Plenty of Valuables and Training Areas
- Location: East of Janus Towers Plaza
- Noteable POIs: Stamin-Up, Death Perception, The Arsenal, Crafting Table
Vandorn Farm is a fantastic location for practicing against zombies, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player. It has everything you need to prepare: you can buy ammo, craft scorestreaks and equipment, upgrade your weapons, and improve your armor all in one place. But even if you don’t need those resources, it’s still a great training ground. The farm is a large, open area, giving you plenty of space to move around and avoid zombies. There’s also a long walkway just outside the farm that’s perfect for practicing back and forth movement. The flat terrain makes it easy to land headshots, and the spacious layout makes dealing with dangerous enemies like Zursa much more manageable.
