Destiny 2 Reveals Renegades Content and Features Roadmap

Before the launch of the new Renegades expansion, Bungie is giving Destiny 2 players a preview of upcoming changes. Usually, players have a good idea of what’s coming in the game, but there’s some uncertainty this time because details beyond the Renegades expansion are scarce.

In the past, Bungie regularly showed players what to expect in upcoming seasons and for the entire year. However, with Destiny 2 currently facing challenges and losing players, many are concerned about the game’s future after the Renegades expansion, which is inspired by Star Wars. Although Bungie is gradually revealing details about Renegades, the long-term direction of Destiny 2 is still unclear. Bungie has finally offered a glimpse into its plans, though it doesn’t answer all fan questions.

Destiny 2 Renegades Feature and Content Roadmap

As the release of Destiny 2: Renegades approaches in just a few weeks, Bungie is giving fans a closer look at what’s coming. In a recent blog post, the developers reflected on the game’s journey with Edge of Fate and shared their plans for the future. While not a comprehensive long-term vision, the post details key updates coming with Destiny 2: Renegades, including new exotic items and weapons, additions to the Portal content, a refresh of available rewards, and several highly requested features.

The recent updates to Destiny 2: Edge of Fate have been heavily influenced by player feedback, and the game is continuing to improve. The December 3rd launch of Renegades and the update on December 9th will address several key issues. These changes will make it easier for all players to increase their power level, remove restrictions on gear, and provide a way for new and returning players to quickly reach power level 300.

Bungie is making a major upgrade to player storage! The Vault will now hold up to 1000 items, an increase of 300 slots. They’re also improving how you organize your gear with a new filtering system that lets you sort by quality, power level, when you got it, and specific item type – like weapons or armor. Plus, you’ll soon be able to customize the look of your Exotic armor in PvE activities by applying ornaments from any Exotic armor piece of the same class and slot – essentially a transmog system that now includes Exotics!

Bungie is working to improve the experience in Destiny 2, acknowledging that the current system doesn’t fully capture the game’s sense of adventure and discovery. To address this, they’re bringing back weekly objectives and introducing a new Vanguard Alerts system. This system will clearly show players what activities are available each week, similar to the classic Nightfall experience. It will combine weekly challenges like Fireteam, Arena, Grandmaster, and PvP into one easy-to-view screen.
