ARC Raiders May Be Getting Highly Requested Feature After Security Breach Nerf

Since its release, ARC Raiders has been a success, even earning Game of the Year consideration. However, a recent change to the ‘Security Breach‘ skill has upset some players who relied on it to access valuable loot. The game’s developers, Embark, have announced on the official ARC Raiders Discord that they are considering a popular request: allowing players who invested skill points into ‘Security Breach’ to get those points back now that the skill has been adjusted.

We recently overlooked some changes to the drop rate for items from Security Lockers. The team at ARC Raiders knows this impacts players focusing on that particular skill tree, and community lead Ossen shared on Discord that they’re looking into adding a way to reset skills. Players have been requesting a skill reset feature since the game launched, and it sounds like it might finally be happening.

ARC Raiders Is Looking at Adding a Skill Reset Mechanic

Before a recent change, players in ARC Raiders could open Security Lockers and find a lot of useful resources to bring back to their base, Speranza. Now, as part of the developers’ effort to keep the game fair, those lockers mostly contain less valuable items like grenades and ammunition.

Okay, so the big drama with this isn’t that Security Breach is useless in ARC Raiders, it’s that a lot of us dumped a ton of skill points – 36, seriously! – into it thinking it was amazing. Now we’re realizing we maybe should have spread those points around. The problem is, fixing it now means sending our Raider on an Expedition, which feels like a huge setback after investing so much already.

Currently, the only way to reset your skill tree in ARC Raiders is by completing Expeditions. However, these Expeditions are very costly, demanding a large number of resources. Some players feel the effort isn’t worth the reward, even though they happen on a regular schedule and their benefits don’t become available until a specific date.

A way to reset skills would be a great addition to ARC Raiders. Currently, players rely on completing Expeditions to change their skill builds, which can be time-consuming. A skill reset feature would allow players to experiment with different builds more freely, potentially costing in-game resources. If Embark adds this feature, it would offer a more convenient alternative to waiting for Expeditions to respec.
