As a die-hard UFC fan who has witnessed the evolution of combat sports over the past few decades, I can confidently say that EA Sports has outdone themselves with the latest updates for UFC 5. The introduction of new alter egos, especially the powerful UFC 303 variant of Alex Pereira, is a game-changer for me personally. I’ve been eagerly waiting to unleash Pereira’s fury in the virtual octagon, and this latest update has only fueled my excitement.

In their latest update, EA Sports has unveiled fresh alternate identities for the UFC 5 game, including a UFC 303 version of Alex Pereira, further boosting the powerful champion’s stats with another top-tier ranking. Fans of UFC 5 were already anticipating an overpowered Alex Pereira variant, but EA Sports has also surprised the community by introducing a second alter ego based on another MMA legend.

Following the launch of a fresh update for UFC 5 in early August, the developers assured fans that they can look forward to an influx of new characters and fighters throughout August and September. Among the first fighters to get a makeover in August were lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett, along with MMA greats like Forrest Griffin, Diego Sanchez, and Rashad Evans. Additionally, a UFC 304 version of former welterweight champion Leon Edwards was debuted, showcasing the athlete’s custom shorts adorned with the Jamaican and Union Jack flags.

Even though EA introduced five fresh alter egos on August 14, they’ve rolled out additional characters for players to try. Among these is Alex Pereira, one of the top kickboxers in UFC 5, who now has a new alter ego with a 5-star rating and improved stats. This character was already considered a top choice in the light heavyweight division, but fans will be even more eager to use him due to his enhanced abilities. Additionally, EA has given players an unexpected treat by releasing a variant of Matt Brown from The Ultimate Fighter era. This version boasts higher health, striking, and grappling stats, as well as a 4.5-star rating.

Alex Pereira UFC 303 Alter Ego Stats

  • 5-star rating
  • 100 punch power (+3 increase)
  • 98 kick power
  • 99 accuracy (+2 increase)

Ever since his victory against Sean Strickland at UFC 277, Pereira has experienced a significant increase in fanbase support. However, few would have predicted that the current light heavyweight champion would rank among the top fighters in UFC 5. With the introduction of his UFC 303 character, Pereira now boasts three distinct personas to select from within the game. For players aiming to access Pereira’s latest persona, they must progress to level 12 on the ongoing punch card, which will be available until September 10th. Those who fail to unlock it can still purchase the alter ego through the in-game store at a later date.

Despite only introducing two new personas on August 20th, Electronic Arts (EA) plans to keep unveiling fresh fighters for UFC 5 in the upcoming weeks. As previously announced, characters like Tatsuro Taira, Manuel Torres, Tabatha Ricci, and Daniel Zellhuber are set to join the game sometime in September. The specific launch date for the update is yet to be revealed, but it’s anticipated to roll out prior to UFC 306 on September 14th.
