In a similar vein to the character interaction system seen in Red Dead Redemption 2, Henry now has the ability to engage in dialogue with NPCs he encounters on the street. For instance, during the Gamescom gameplay for KCD 2, if Henry comes across a guard, he can opt to respond to his demand for peace with either ‘Greet’ or ‘Mock’. Choosing the ‘Greet’ option results in Henry replying with “May God be with you.”

As a devoted fan, I can say that little exchanges like these immerse me deeper into the medieval realm Henry traverses. Yet, an intriguing event transpired earlier that caught my attention. While escaping a skirmish and covered in mud, the pungent aroma of me drew notice from a nearby Alehouse Maid. In this instance, Henry was given a choice between ‘Explaining’ or ‘Retorting’. Opting for the former, Henry then shared his plans to clean himself up.

2 Change Outfits & Equip To Belt

Players Can Switch Between Prepared Outfits, With Even More Accessory Options

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but express my admiration for the exceptional outfit customization in the original King’s Cage Dagger (KCD) game. The layered system and the impact clothes have on gameplay truly set it apart. For instance, choosing darker and quieter attire enhances stealth. Notably, these impressive aspects seem to have been brilliantly preserved in the sequel, making my gaming experience even more immersive and strategic.

However, a huge improvement is that players can now switch between outfits that they have prepared, instead of painstakingly replacing each individual item of clothing or armor. With a click of a button, players can swap out their heavy armor for fancy clothes suitable for a night in Kuttenberg. Additionally, fans might have noticed that most characters, including Henry, wear things on their belt, and in the Inventory menu there is an option for ‘Equip to Belt’. At the shop, there was also a Knight’s Belt and Knight’s Pouch to purchase.

At this year’s Gamescom, we learned about some exciting new features coming in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, including enhancements to the fighting system. While the first game was already praised for its immersive first-person melee combat, players can now choose to employ Battle Cries or Taunts as well.

In the gameplay video, the player chooses a Battle Cry, which makes Henry exclaim his hunger aloud, a secret reference for fans of the original game. It’s likely that there are other voice responses for this choice, but we don’t yet know what impact it has on the battle. Similarly, details about the Taunt are scant, but based on other dialogue in the video, it seems players can anticipate some strong language. Even if these features are just for aesthetic purposes, they add a nice touch to the gameplay experience.

In the unveiling of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, not only did we learn that Blacksmithing and Alchemy will be present, but a Crafting option appeared in the menu as well. The specifics of how crafting might expand in KCD 2 remain unclear, but it’s safe to assume that this addition means more possibilities for this eagerly awaited sequel.

In the spirit of the initial game, which had elements of a medieval sandbox or simulation, crafting options are always appreciated. Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that a Markman’s Kit, reminiscent of Tailor Kits from the first game, has been spotted in additional footage.

Similar to its predecessor, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is based in medieval Bohemia, but this time around, a bustling city like Kuttenberg might introduce characters from adjacent realms. During the Gamescom demonstration, two such characters were highlighted, contributing to an even more vibrant and lively world.

1. In the beginning, there was a Polish character, whose final prayer, when translated, carries the witty humor fans are fond of from the initial game. It’s later discovered that this character is familiar to Henry and could potentially be significant in his adventure. The other character not from Czech lands was a German merchant, expressing gratitude to Henry in German and bidding him farewell. Since Kuttenberg is a significant and prosperous city within the Holy Roman Empire with a large upper-class German population, players can anticipate more such interactions.

Without a doubt, Henry is renowned for his perpetual hunger and his unmissable reminders about food. Fortunately, Warhorse Studios has acknowledged this popular joke among the community by providing Henry with additional chances to express his appetite.

Laughably, one possible voice line for the new Battle Cry option in combat is Henry exclaiming, “I’m getting quite peckish!” There was also a brief scene following a fight, where Henry remarks, “That was just an amuse-bouche; I’m hungry again. So I guess it’s time for another helping.” From these previews and several other instances, it can be assumed that the humor fans adored in the original game will continue to be a prominent feature.
