The new LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart sets are an absolute game-changer, and they’ve managed to capture the essence of the beloved video game series in a way that only LEGO can.

Today’s blog update brings exciting news: LEGO has formally declared the launch of several fresh LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart sets slated for release on New Year’s Day, 2025.

The forthcoming lineup features: Yoshi’s Bicycle, Regular Kart, Donkey Kong and the oversized DK, a face-off between Baby Mario and Baby Luigi, Toad’s Workshop, as well as sets for Baby Peach and the Grand Prix.

Today’s post highlights an exciting new aspect of the latest LEGO sets: they are compatible with individual Mario, Luigi, or Peach figures! This allows for additional interactive functions such as race starting sounds, horn honking, drifting effects, and even gliding noises straight from the game, thanks to audio and visual enhancements.

Additionally, it’s shown that players can utilize these characters not only for racing but also for scanning Item Boxes. This feature enables them to gather additional coins, thereby increasing their total score upon completion of the race.

On the other hand, the tiniest, yet equally charming, is Yoshi Bike with only 133 pieces priced at just $14.99. With six sets in total, there’s a perfect fit for every Mario fanatic!

LEGO Design Chief Simon Kent hinted at upcoming sets that offer a deeply engaging building process and encapsulate the thrilling, pulse-racing action from popular video game franchises.

In a short while, the new Mario Kart-styled LEGO sets are due, following closely behind the release of the LEGO Super Mario World set slated for October 2024.

Alongside the unveiling of LEGO Mario Kart collections, the latest blog post hinted at the introduction of three additional LEGO Animal Crossing sets. These sets comprise Stargazing with Celeste, Leif’s Caravan & Garden Shop, and Able Sisters Clothing Store.
