As a die-hard One Piece fan who has been sailing through this grand adventure since its inception, I must admit that the recent turn of events has sent my compass spinning. The delay of Episode 1117 has left me feeling like Luffy stranded on an island, waiting for his crew to find him!
As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but be captivated by the ongoing journey of the One Piece anime. For years, it’s been keeping my fellow fans and me hooked, week after week, with its unstoppable flow of captivating episodes that never fail to touch our hearts worldwide.
Fans of “One Piece” looking forward to Episode 1117 may find themselves having to practice a bit more patience, since it seems the airing has been postponed – possibly due to a recent scandal involving one of its voice actors.
Instead of airing the One Piece Episode 1117 on August 25, 2024, as initially planned, there will instead be a recap episode shown.
The hold-up might be due to the change in the voice artist for the character Sabo, Toru Furuya. To clarify for those not aware, Furuya relinquished his role following disclosures of his romantic involvement with a fan.
After a report made public in May 2024, Furuya acknowledged his mistake and announced his resignation from the role of Sabo in One Piece, which he had voiced starting from Episode 663 until Episode 1089.
On August 16, 2024, it became known that Miyu Irino would begin portraying the character Sabo from Episode 1116 onwards.

When Will One Piece Episode 1117 Air?
Delaying Episode 1117 appears to be due to the significant reworking of the character Sabo, who’s anticipated to have a more prominent part in future episodes.
Following the broadcast of the recap episode the following week, viewers will be able to catch Episode 1117 on Sunday, the 1st of September, 2024.
From the sneak peek of the upcoming episode, it appears that Sabo will encounter both Dragon and Ivankov, suggesting a more significant part in the narrative as we progress.
