Arena Breakout Infinite Console Release Announced at Gamescom

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel a twinge of excitement at the prospect of Arena Breakout Infinite gracing consoles. After all, the game’s PC version has been a rollercoaster ride of fun and frustration, much like my first date with my now-wife (but that’s another story!).

After the successful debut of its preliminary playtest, game developer Morefun Studios leveraged this momentum by releasing a fresh announcement following their Gamescom trailer: Arena Breakout Infinite will be making its way to consoles. They revealed this upcoming launch on platform X (previously known as Twitter), but provided little further details. For example, it’s unclear which specific consoles—possibly PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S—and they haven’t disclosed a release date yet either.

After the announcement, there was an avalanche of queries from the community in their feed about crossplay and cross-progression in Arena Breakout: Infinite. However, the studio has yet to provide further information and hasn’t responded to anyone, as far as we can tell. But we learned that Arena Breakout: Infinite won’t support crossplay, according to Enzo Zhang from the studio at Gamescom.

Absolutely, numerous players used this chance to show their disappointment towards the game’s pay-to-win features, particularly the option to buy in-game currency with actual money.

Given that, console gamers don’t have many options for extraction shooter games. If the studio manages to sustain the momentum and release it promptly, this could turn out to be a significant victory for them!

At Gamescom, I got the chance to sit down with the developers from Morefun and hear all about their plans for the console release of our favorite game. They also touched on the topic of anti-cheat measures they’re implementing to ensure fair play, as well as some details regarding microtransactions. Can’t wait to jump back in once it hits consoles!
