In Anno 117: Pax Romana, constantly spending more than you earn can lead to debt. This severely restricts gameplay and could even result in losing the game. It’s crucial for players to understand effective money-making strategies in Anno 117: Pax Romana.
How To Make Money In Anno 117 Pax Romana
In Anno 117: Pax Romana, Denarii are the coins used as money. You can track your earnings and spending with the Balance display at the top-right of your screen, next to your current coin total.
This section lets players track their earnings and spending, so they can decide what to invest in or reduce.
Players can learn more about how much money their island is earning by clicking on the “Island Income” information box, which is found below the island’s name. This will show them which buildings are generating the most and least income. Generally, fulfilling the needs of your residents and buildings with area-of-effect bonuses will provide the biggest earnings.
Here are some ways players can improve their income and make money fast in Anno 117: Pax Romana.
Income Specialists
Certain Specialists in Anno 117: Pax Romana can boost your income. Gaius Julius Lupus, for instance, expands the income-generating area of your Markets. You can acquire Gaius by completing the ‘Gemini in the Roughs’ event, where you’ll need to choose between him and Brutus.
If you’re playing the campaign, be sure to recall your Specialists from any missions before traveling to Albion.
An actuary can directly boost revenue from properties, making them a strong candidate for the specialist position at the Governor’s Villa.
Income Buildings
Okay, so in this game, certain buildings like the Market and the Spinner are awesome for making more money from each area of your city. Honestly, they’re the best way to boost your income. But here’s the catch: you can only really upgrade each building once with another of the same type. That means you gotta strategically place Spinners to cover as much territory as possible without stacking them on top of each other – spreading them out is key!
Some buildings offer a big increase to income, but also have drawbacks. For instance, Breweries and Bakeries each give every building in their area a +3 income boost, but they also reduce Fire Safety by -2. Because of this, it’s best not to cluster too many of them together in small spaces.
Trade Routes
In Anno 117: Pax Romana, players can make money by trading goods. Visiting another city’s harbor shows you what items they’re looking to buy. For instance, during the campaign, the city of Cnocnees of Albion consistently buys Reed Shoes for 21 Gold.
When you check your Trading Post, you’ll notice Reed Shoes usually sell for 14 Gold. Because of this, it’s more profitable to sell them to the city specifically requesting them, instead of just selling to any city.
Okay, so I’ve noticed a pattern with city requests. If a city keeps asking for the same thing over and over, the price goes up a little. But if they only want a specific, limited amount of something? The price jumps way up. Basically, constant demand means a small price bump, but rare requests mean I can charge a lot more!
Establishing trade routes simplifies things by automatically sending your boat to deliver and sell chosen items in the city you specify.
If you want to make something but lack the necessary materials, you’ll need to locate an island with those resources and establish a settlement there.
Players can also sell items directly through their Trading Post. Simply select an item and set a price after you’ve collected a specific amount of it.
Manual Trades
If you’d rather trade items yourself, you can absolutely do that. Look for harbors that buy everything – the Procurator’s Harbour in the campaign is a good example.
Trading Posts usually aren’t open for business right away. Sometimes, you’ll need a trade permit before you can buy or sell items there.
Fulfilling Contracts
Unlike trading, which sometimes needs a special permit, contracts are generally easier to access. Once you’ve found a city, you should be able to find its Lighthouse. Clicking on the Lighthouse will show you available tasks you can complete to earn gold.
Disabling Buildings
If your city is making more resources than you need, you can turn off the building that’s creating them. This not only stops production but also eliminates the cost of maintaining that building. This is particularly helpful when your island’s storage is full.
Complete Research
Researching in Anno 117: Pax Romana can lower your costs or bring in more money. It’s a good idea to always have a research project going to stay ahead of the game.
