This article contains spoilers for the One Piece series.
For almost thirty years, the One Piece manga has consistently delivered amazing stories, and fans are currently experiencing some of its best content yet. The recent flashback focusing on Loki has made the story incredibly exciting, proving that the current final arc is the peak of the series – full of major reveals and bringing together the most powerful characters.
The recent flashback in God Valley revealed a crucial weakness of Imu and the World Government. According to Eiichiro Oda, defeating them will likely involve two specific Devil Fruits. These are thought to be Blackbeard’s Yami Yami no Mi and Luffy’s Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika. However, it’s possible Blackbeard, with his own abilities, could be powerful enough to defeat Imu and achieve what’s been prophesied as the Will of D.
Blackbeard Has The Legendary Power Of The Strongest Devil Fruit
Blackbeard, whose real name is Marshall D. Teach, is unique in the world of One Piece. He’s the only character shown to be able to consume more than one Devil Fruit. The reason for this ability remains a mystery, though fans have come up with many theories trying to explain it.
Blackbeard possesses two incredibly powerful Devil Fruits. The first, the Yami Yami no Mi, controls darkness, and is considered the strongest Devil Fruit overall. He obtained his second, the Gura Gura no Mi, which creates tremors, by defeating Whitebeard. It’s considered the most powerful Paramecia-type Devil Fruit. Many fans speculate that Blackbeard intends to find a third Devil Fruit, likely a Zoan-type, to complete his collection.
It’s become clear that the most powerful Zoan Devil Fruit is Luffy’s Hito Hito No Mi, Model: Nika. If Blackbeard were to obtain it, he’d be strong enough to defeat the entire World Government, even Imu, on his own.
Rocks Revealed The Way To Beat Imu
Rocks D. Xebec believed that overthrowing the World Government would require two specific Devil Fruits. While he didn’t name them directly, he mentioned one was located in Elbaf. Considering its link to the legendary figure Nika, it’s strongly implied this was the Nika fruit, and Rocks intended for Harald to consume it.
Currently, the only Devil Fruit believed to be able to defeat Imu is likely the Yami Yami no Mi (Dark-Dark Fruit). This fruit can nullify other Devil Fruit powers, meaning Imu would be defenseless against Blackbeard. This gives Blackbeard a clear path to victory, potentially even allowing him to become the new ruler of the world, similar to Davy Jones in the past. Blackbeard might be the only one capable of defeating Imu on his own right now.
Blackbeard And Luffy Could Fight Imu Together
For a long time, Blackbeard has been established as a powerful enemy in the One Piece story. He’s directly responsible for the death of Ace, Luffy’s brother, making him a key villain.
If a major war breaks out, Luffy and Blackbeard may need to work together, at least until they defeat Imu. They each possess crucial information, making cooperation essential to winning. Once Imu is defeated, they could finally battle each other, potentially establishing Blackbeard as the ultimate villain in the story of One Piece.
One Piece will have a break next week, and a new chapter (Chapter 1166) will be released on November 23, 2025. Fans can read it for free on Manga Plus.
