Root Of The Matter Quest In ARC Raiders

I’m really enjoying helping out the traders in ARC Raiders – it feels good to scavenge for lost tech. It actually makes this extraction shooter feel like a proper survival game, and it really gets you into the vibe of the world. Right now, I’m working on the ‘Root of the Matter’ quest, where I’m helping Celeste find this Seed Vault and grab an Experimental Seed Sample. I figured I’d share everything I’ve learned about the quest, including exactly where to find that room with a great view – it’s key to finishing things up!

Root Of The Matter Quest In ARC Raiders

Okay, so this quest starts pretty straightforward – you just need to head to the Research Building. It’s a decent spot for loot, located right in the middle of Buried City, between Marano Park and the Space Travel building. The cool thing is, there are entrances all around it, so getting inside isn’t a hassle at all. I shouldn’t have any trouble slipping in!

The Research Building is always guarded by enemies, so be ready for a fight. You’ll typically encounter at least one ARC Fireball and one ARC Pop.

Getting inside the Research Building will complete:

  • Go to the Research Building

And will start a new objective:

  • Search for the Seed Vault in the “room with a great view”

As soon as you walk into the Research Building, you’ll spot a hallway on the first floor. It leads straight to this amazing room – it’s right in the center of the floor, and the view is incredible! I always head there first.

The game features a large window with a fantastic view of Marano Park, but the park is also populated by enemies from ARC, including an ARC Surveyor in ARC Raiders.

The Seed Vault is located on the left, marked with a ‘Cryogenic Hazard’ sign. Go to it and interact with it to collect the seeds.

A quest item will drop from the Seed Vault, called Experimental Seed Sample.

That will complete:

  • Search for the Seed Vault in the “room with a great view”

And will start a new objective:

  • Deliver the Experimental Seed Sample to Celeste

Okay, so I’ve got this Experimental Seed Sample, and it’s super important that I get it to Celeste. That means making it out of the Buried City alive! Luckily, I can go in with at least one safe pocket, which is a huge relief. If I mess up and fall during the run, I won’t have to start the whole thing over again, which is awesome.
