As a long-time enthusiast of the Jackbox Party Pack series, I can’t help but feel a tinge of excitement as I eagerly await the arrival of the Jackbox Naughty Pack next month. Growing up with these games has been a memorable journey, and the M-rated titles seem like a natural evolution for an older audience.
In response to numerous requests from fans for a mature-rated game, the much-anticipated “Jackbox Adult Package” is approaching, featuring three adult-themed mini-games: Fakin’ It All Night Long, Dirty Drawful, and Let Me Finish. These games have been a part of the beloved Jackbox Party Pack series for many fans who are now grown up, making mature titles a fitting choice for an older demographic. Thus, both longtime fans and potential newcomers may be excited to experience the first mature-rated Jackbox games. Naturally, some fans might wonder about the filter and storage options in the Jackbox Adult Package, particularly with tools like Jackbox‘s Megapicker recently introduced. Additionally, there is curiosity among fans about what the future holds for the franchise following the release of the Adult Package next month.
During a chat with Game Rant, Jackbox Games CEO Mike Bilder discussed in detail the filter choices and streamer configurations within the newly released “Naughty Pack,” including its relationship with Megapicker. Bilder also hinted at future projects from Jackbox Games, suggesting that fans may have even more exciting content to anticipate in the near future.
Jackbox’s Naughty Pack Filter Options And Streamer Settings
As a gamer, I’ve found that the Jackbox Naughty Pack isn’t for the faint-hearted, given its M rating and adult content. However, it does offer some customization options to help manage its content, such as filter settings for streamers. For example, it preserves the sensitivity settings from previous games, allowing players to block profanity and choose their level of strictness.
The “Naughty Pack” introduces a distinctive streamer mode for the game “Fakin’ It All Night Long,” allowing for remote play. It’s important to note that the “Naughty Pack” remains an M-rated game, with adult content being a part of the experience. While it’s not possible to completely filter out mature content to make it suitable for teenagers, as one might anticipate. As Bilder put it:
“This game offers some control over its content, but since it’s rated M for mature audiences, there will still be explicit content. We want to ensure both players and online streamers are fully aware of this before engaging with our games.”
In addition, Bilder discussed the upcoming enhancements for Megapicker. They aim to enrich it with additional features as new games get integrated. At present, Megapicker doesn’t impose limitations such as parental controls; however, Bilder mentioned there is a filter that allows players to hide M-rated games from their catalog. This seems like a practical solution at the moment, and Bilder also hinted at expanding accessibility options in future updates.
Jackbox Games’ Future Plans Following The Naughty Pack
In the future, Bilder chose not to disclose if another standard Jackbox Party Pack is forthcoming, but they did mention that their team is brainstorming game titles for next year. The “Naughty Pack” isn’t a significant shift for the company, according to Bilder. Instead, fans can anticipate more teen-friendly traditional party games from Jackbox in the future as well. Although a Jackbox Party Pack 11 has yet to be confirmed, this could be exciting news for those eagerly waiting for more Jackbox games after the release of the “Naughty Pack.” However, whether there will be additional games for the “Naughty Pack” is still uncertain.
Interestingly, Bilder hinted that fans of the Jackbox game series have even more to anticipate in both 2024 and 2025, a prospect that might excite them greatly. In fact, Bilder suggested this tidbit as a tantalizing teaser.
Besides the announcements we’ll be making this year, I can’t disclose details just yet, but there’s plenty more to anticipate from Jackbox in 2024.
